Tucked away on the outskirts of Shanklin and surrounded by ancient woodland, this enchanting 300-year-old stone cottage is brimming with character and history. With its exposed wooden floors, original beams, and a magnificent inglenook fireplace housing a cosy log burner, it’s the perfect retreat for peace, comfort, and relaxation.
Step inside and you’ll instantly feel the charm of times gone by — yet thoughtful modern touches ensure every convenience for today’s guests. The welcoming country-style kitchen, complete with everything you need to prepare hearty home-cooked meals, opens into a dining area ideal for sharing food and conversation with family and friends.
The town, beaches and Shanklin Old Village are only a short drive away. The property is dog friendly and surrounded by ancient woodland with plenty of nature walks in every direction.
The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 5 guests and has been recently renovated and stylishly furnished by the owners.
Upon entering the property through the bright and airy sunroom, guests are welcomed into a charming additional seating area thoughtfully designed to blur the line between indoors and out. This serene space features a stunning living wall, offering a tranquil, nature-inspired ambiance.
The sunroom also provides a unique dining area and cozy seating, making it the perfect spot to unwind before stepping through the internal stable door into the cottage’s modern kitchen.
Also located on the ground floor is the stylish family bathroom, complete with a bath, toilet, wash basin, and a heated towel rail. The comfortable lounge invites relaxation, featuring a log burner for cozy evenings and a Smart TV for entertainment.
From the lounge, stairs lead up to three tastefully decorated bedrooms—one double, one twin, and one single—all sharing access to an upstairs cloakroom.
Two off road parking spaces are located just in front of the property, making it convenient to unload luggage directly into the cottage.

LOCATION:
Within easy reach of the cottage are an abundance of footpaths, for walks through woodland and the surrounding countryside. Alternatively, hop on a bike and peddle along the 32 miles that make up the Red Squirrel cycle path, part of which follows the old steam railway line. A short drive takes you to the attractive seafront at Shanklin, which is often bustling with people gathering at one of the many restaurants or choosing a favoured spot for swimming and sunbathing along the extensive sandy beach. There's a variety of amusements to entertain all ages, including crazy golf, arcades and ice cream stalls. If you like exploring, then Shanklin Chine is a must, with its natural beauty surrounded by waterfalls, streams and rare plants. The entrance is situated within Shanklin Old Village amongst popular local restaurants, pubs and thatched cottages.

Our stay was more than comfortable, lovely little cottage that seemed bigger on the inside than it looked from the outside. Lovely big kitchen.

Lovely old cottage close to Shanklin,
We stayed for 6 weeks and it felt like home.
Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by trees. Four minute drive to Shanklin town centre and the Old Village.
Broadband could be stronger, there were dead areas in the cottage and same with cell phone

Fine living
Excellent accom. too big for us really .You could easily get 2 couples and their dogs in there.It is very handy for Shanklin beach,We basically lived in the conservatory which was excellent .We had several very hot days but the air conditioning is the best we have ever had outside of America
