Room was clean except for the trim it was very dirty. Bathroom was extremely small and the shower made a noise when water was on. They did not make the bed only emptied the garbage and brought new towels in. Lobby and pool were very nice. I thought rooms would be updated like the lobby and since the website said they were remodeled in 2022. They had no TV listings and told me to look up Comcast in Sarasota for channels. They really only had maybe 6 channels. For a cheaper stay it wasn’t bad because we weren’t in the room a lot but I would not stay again.

Uncomfortable seating (i.e. no lounge chair to sit in ). Thought I booked a 'suite' with at least a love seat/lounge chair or other seating to watch TV. Shower was for disabled access, which was fine, but water ran out of the thing into the bathroom and room. Had to figure out how to take a shower and where to put bathmat so that wouldn't happen. Staff was hit/miss as far as being pleasant/helpfull.

The staff was and always is very friendly and helpful. Check-in is simple and quick. And I like the way they stay in touch with me throughout the visit in case I have any needs.

I had a very disappointing experience at Golden Host Resort and would not recommend staying here. The condition of the room was unacceptable—there were cigarette burn holes, dirty floors, stained walls, and filthy baseboards that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The sink was clogged, the fridge didn’t work properly, and to make matters worse, the door lock was broken, which felt extremely unsafe. The outside areas were just as bad. The pool was green and scummy, and the surrounding area was littered with cigarette butts, making it unpleasant to even sit nearby. Overall, the property is poorly maintained and far below basic cleanliness and safety standards. Definitely not worth the stay.

Checked in very late in the evening and got a room where the AC condenser was extremely loud. Did not sleep at all the first night. Phone line was not operating either and could not report it during that night. Condenser was somewhat fixed the following day.

Was an older motel that i do believe they're trying to update. Our room was clean but some of the furniture could've been up dated. The grounds were very nice especially the pool area. Was verg convenient to have the Tiki Bar right there but it was always difficult to get a drink- lots of patrons! Cant say enough about the staff- all smiles and very helpful. They will tell you on check in that there is a 150 room deposit- been checked out from there for 2 weeks and dont know if I've gotten it back yet.

The room smelled terrible, the shower worked but was not in good condition and the floorboards by the shower were coming up which is due to water coming out of the shower. Cheaply done and the whole place feels like cheap housing. The Tiki Bar sounded like fun but I wasn’t comfortable as a single woman even going there.And there were men’s underwear and socks in the drawer which creeped me out. The front desk person was ver pleasant.

Highly recommend. Friendly staff, nice pool area, bar on site with strong drinks, music and bingo throughout the week. They even have laundry facilities.

Never used the pool. But we enjoyed both the simplicity and the 50s kitchy-ness. Would have liked to have had more towels. Lobby staff was great and the room cleaning staff were both effective and efficient.

The hotel is a perfect location for travelers looking for a clean newly renovated room not far from the airport or the city. The hotel has great open spaces outside and a large pool area with plenty of chairs and space. The pool is clean and refreshing. The manager Katrina was particularly helpful and attentive to guests needs. I certainly recommend The Golden Host Resort for your next visit to Sarasota.

Nice stay for 1 or 2 days…..great friendly staff,well taken care of grounds for a retro hotel. Would’ve given it a 5 star but didn’t like the soap in the bathroom.

A little hiccup initially but WOW was the staff responsive! What great customer service! Rooms are super cute. Do know up front there is no elevator…we did not know but made it work. Also, there is a $150 deposit required which, depending on your credit card statement timing, you may have to actually pay…but I was assured it will be refunded.
