"Splurged on what seemed best waterfront 2 br online. Wish I hadn’t. Old, run down, torn furniture, bugs EVERYWHERE. oddly expensive w beer and food more than twice other resorts visited the week prior. Charged ungodly amounts t for teenagers to rent each item needed for tennis and pickleball. The airport shuttle is effectively the only useful or valued amenity. Staff were friendly but whomever sets prices and decides where to invest resources is doing awful job. Frequent family visitors like us will spread word and soon customer base will dry up. Much nicer places down road are also cheaper and cleaner and more plausibly walkable to at least a couple eats. Never again. Can’t believe we paid so much for crummy night. "

"First and foremost, let me say that overall this place is excellent. You will not regret staying here as it's beautiful.That being said, here are the things you need to know if you're considering booking this home:- Home is 30 minutes from Placencia by car. Book a rental car (NOT a golf cart) if you plan on spending a lot of time in or out of town (Leo). 40-50 mins to town by golf cart, 1 way.- Leo and Christine are awesome and can hook you up with almost anything you're looking for. Lean on their expertise and guidance in preparing for and during your trip.- Rooftop patio and outdoor balcony eating area are legit. Most of our meals were spent there enjoying the sound of the ocean and scenery. That being said, the stairs to the rooftop are narrow and somewhat treacherous. We made a "one drink" rule for up there.- Beach is well-maintained and good for sunbathing and recreation of all kinds. Sandy bottom with some turtle grass that's soft on your feet.- Had no problem brushing teeth or washing dishes, food, or anything else in tap water. No digestive issues.- Songbirds and sunrise will wake up whoever is sleeping in the master bedroom at 5:30 am every morning.- Pool was clean but much too cold to enjoy comfortably for any length of time. High of 82 F while we were there.- Placencia is not built up, however there are enough tourists here that infrastructure exists to accommodate you as a guest. Good balance of local culture and modern conveniences.Enjoy!!"

" Absolutely amazing stay! The property was spotless, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing — even better than expected. Everything was beautifully maintained and made us feel completely at home. The beds were perfect and beyond comfortable.We had Johnny, one of the private chefs, come cook for us one night. It was one of the best meals we had during our stay. We even saw dolphins porpoising right from the dock while having coffee in the morning. The staff, especially, Alia, was outstanding: so friendly, accommodating, and quick to answer all of our questions. They truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I highly recommend this place and would absolutely book again!"

" We just returned from a wonderful week in Placencia, Belize. My wife and I have learned to love Belize, especially the Placencia and Maya Beach area. This trip we invited by brother and his wife and my sister and her husband. We stayed at the Rising Moon Villa just north of Maya Beach. The owner, Arthur, helped us through some booking issues due to his previous property manager and was an attentive and friendly host the entire week. There is nothing that he did not help arrange or provide that we needed.First of all, the location of the house is perfect. On the beach, close to the lagoon canals for easy access for our excursions and near to our favorite restaurants. There were three couples (all in our 60s) so three separate bedrooms was perfect. An each bedroom was spacious with comfortable beds and dedicated bathrooms. We had a private chef for a few nights so the full kitchen worked great for us. It had every appliance and device we needed and then some. The living space and the decks were incredible in morning and evening.Lastly, Arthur is an accomplished artist. The villa is filled with paintings, sculptures and other items that make it truly special and unique. Our only complaint is that we could not stay longer. We will be back. Highly recommended."

"Nice secluded slice of beach!Absolutely loved the pool on the deck, which was bigger than it seems in the pictures! We visited during the first week of March, with winds coming in from the NE, so the beach wasn’t nice to swim in. Tons of seaweed washed up on the beach, and the water was super warm and very brown so you couldn’t see the bottom. I imagine it clears up when the winds come from a different direction, but we didn’t hangout much at the beach much during our stay. Saw some cool birds, lots of pelicans, and watch out for coatis on the road in!The place had everything we needed, A/C, fans, nice shower, comfy bed, blender for pina coladas! The palapa at the end of the dock was often windy but super nice to lounge on the hammock and feel the warm breeze. The casita is located about 20min north of Placencia, which was nice and quiet. Lots of delicious food options within 10-20 minutes. We loved the breakfast at Maya Beach Resort, so delicious."
