"I took a star off because there were ants on the bathroom upon our arrival. The problem got worse overnight but once we informed the front desk it was taken care off right away. Otherwise, everything else was great. Enjoyed the breakfast, happy hour and free bottle of wine for each night we stayed there. Great location, walked to the waterfront and the main street."

"The last time we stayed at this hotel was over 20 years ago and we always had fond memories and loved the location. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the rooms have undergone a recent renovation and have a very nice, welcoming and cosy vibe. It's updated without resorting to hard grey laminate floors everywhere that's the trend these days (makes me feel like I'm staying in an office or empty museum: cold and harsh sound). This room wasn't large and yet didn't feel cramped at all. Just about perfect really. The only caveat worth mentioning is that we had a corner room overlooking State Street on one side, and the noise from the nearby bars was occasionally pretty loud. It doesn't let up until 2:00 am. I kinda enjoyed it, but I didn't have anywhere to rush off to the next day. If you know noise will prevent you from getting a good night sleep, just be sure to avoid the State Street facing rooms."

"Overall it is a good place. The location, 1/2 block from the water is the best thing about it. It is also clean and in good condition. No frills. No coffee makers in the room but they had coffee each morning in the lobby. The pool is clean and the pool area kept up well. No heater, so it is refreshing (especially on a hot day). It is a short drive to good restaurants and Stearn's Wharf."

"THis property was beautiful and as described. I would return. A few things to know about the property, there is no A/C it can get a bit warm in the afternoon. When you leave Be sure the windows are open slightly not to let the heat in, but allow some breeze in and put the shade halfway down so not to allow the sun in. When you return, opening the windows will bring in a nice breeze and cool it off. Also, it is a busy street so there is a lot of vehicle noise. That being said. It is only a half a block away from East Beach and close to the wharf and shopping on State street. Nice restaurants within a close drive. You will not be disappointed."
