Our room was very outdated and the carpet was filthy. Walking around barefoot left our feet dirty as if we were walking around outside, which is not sanitary. None of the usb outlets did not work. For the price I expected a lot more. Would not stay here again.

The listing on Expedia is totally different than the room I checked into. It was a bait and switch. The room is advertised on Expedia as having a balcony yet did not. The rooms with balconies were an upgraded upcharge - which I did transfer into, but left feeling less than appreciated by the obvious ruse. I was also forced to show my ID (walk from the front desk back to my room and get my ID's from the safe) in order to extend my stay by activating my keys. I was on my way to the beach on foot for my daily walk and it was less than appreciated. All in all, I had a fine stay. I only wish the listings were more honest.

Rooms are dated, but clean. Think 1970’s motel with a paint job. Pool and hot tubs are lovely but can be crowded. We were there on a holiday weekend. The other issue is the only restaurant and bar which serves excellent food and drink by the way closes at 9:30 every night. Even on a holiday weekend. I watched as couple after couple walked up to the darkened doors of the restaurant and pulled on them in disbelief. They were told that there was wine and beer for sale on the lobby shop and that they could order door dash. Not my idea of a luxury vacation. It’s on the bay which is beautiful but a bit out of the way from anything as well. It appeared that they had limited staff who were Mostly there all day from Breakfast to close. Sad to say the staffing limitations result in poor service because the service we did receive was kind and courteous but I guess not serving a full evening restaurant or bar in a remote location is a service issue ultimately. Kids will enjoy! Great for families with youngsters

This "hotel" was a glorified motel and only because of its proximity to Mission Bay points of interest in the area. Tiny rooms, minimum bathrooms, teensy corner closet, no movie channels, no comfy chair, and the worst pillows (fat and hard) ever! Might be okay for young adults who don't know yet what a comfortable stay should be like...

I’ve stayed at the resort many times I love it here the pools are great they are heated and the tiki bar is amazing with the best bartender. This time they even bbq at the tropical pool which made it nice to have a food option for an afternoon lunch. The staff are Friendly and accommodating the rooms are clean and fresh the linens pillows etc very clean. I will always come back to the Dana

The staff was amazing. Extremely personable, and helpful for questions. However, the first night I did not sleep at all. The room they assigned was facing the extremely busy road for the area. Then, our air conditioner did not work properly, and the only way to keep it cooled off was to open windows to hear the traffic, horns, sirens, etc…. Or get up every 30 minutes or so, and reset the air conditioner. Unreal!!! The next morning I requested a different room, and they moved us to a different building, facing the same highway. The ONLY way to get away from the highway noise and get AC, was to pay more money. I really don’t think that was fair, at all.

The rooms were very clean, that is the main positive. No shuttle to/from airport or local popular attractions (Zoo/Seaworld). The resturant there had good food. The service was hit or miss. Sometimes the staff was attentive and other days our waitress disappeared. Expect to spend some time there if you choose to eat. The location is a bit isolated from other locations to eat. The pools are heated, so that was nice. The rooms away from the main building have NO sound barrier. We didn't sleep well for 5 nights! Having kids above you or adults that thump when they walk will wait you. I think the parents left there kids alone and went to the bar. From 9pm - 3am the kids were running, jumping, screaming..😳🙄 Also, adults..keep this NO sound barrier in mind if you do adult activities in your room. This location is ok, as I mentioned at the top, great cleaning staff, but I won't stay here again. Not worth the $$$.

This is a really cute property. It’s close to the Marina and SeaWorld. The staff was friendly however one con with the long distance walking they probably should have like little golf carts or something that can take people back-and-forth and there’s no elevators so if you book upstairs, she will have to walk upstairs. overall and beautiful property .

The only negatuve is you need a car to get anywhere. Ubers are expensive in Cali ...everything is expensive. While i enjoyed the Dana Califirnia is way too expensive .

The place itself is beautiful and amazing! The only things we did not like were the noise from the constant planes leaving the airport and the highway being right there, as well as the $35 per day parking fee they charge. Other than that, the staff was kind and helpful, the place clean and beautiful, and location with things to do nearby was perfect!

Best part other than nice and clean was the very helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
