About this property
Convenient Studio w/ Queen bed - Prime Location in Little Italy!
Hi! Thanks for your interest in our space. This is an awesome studio apartment for 1-2 people who want something affordable and walkable to many restaurants/bars, and the waterfront. Please read the full description for a better understanding of the space and a few things to keep in mind before booking.
This is a ground floor studio apartment, 2 blocks away from central Little Italy with a kitchenette (no full kitchen) - very similar to a hotel room. Please note that the unit is on the ground floor, there is no designated parking space, and the door opens to the sidewalk, so you will hear normal city noise of passerby’s, cars, plus occasional footsteps from upstairs. If you’re looking for something affordable, walkable to Little Italy, Waterfront Park, Convention Center, with comfortable basic amenities, this is an excellent studio apartment! If you’re someone who would be more comfortable in a hotel, won’t sleep well with city noise, or is uncomfortable being so close to the street, this may not be the place for you.
Just a quick stroll to the famous Little Italy, or popular attractions like Waterfront Park and Embarcadero. Convenience store and coffee around the corner. Very close to the airport, Convention Center, Gaslamp, Hillcrest, Balboa Park, Coronado, Petco Park.
Amenities: Keypad entry, 24 hr check-in, A/C, Refrigerator, Coffee station, Apple TV, comfortable King mattress, brand new linens & pillows from West Elm.

It's a clean and spacious room. The location is nice convenient --- in the Little Italy region and close to the train station. Great value for the price.

Great location, very central and close to shops and restaurants. However, the apartment is quite dark, the bed was too soft and uncomfortable, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable—I had trouble with video calls. With a few improvements, it could be a much better stay.
I was visiting San Diego for an event at the convention center and this place was a great location to walk to the convention center, the gas lamp district, and balboa park! Very clean & cozy spot!
I had a great stay. The apartment was clean and super cute and close to everything, a short walk or a short ride away. I would definitely stay here again!
This studio apartment was so cute and exactly what we needed for a 4-day trip. Close to multiple lines of public transportation as well! It was clean. Would stay again!!
The listing is very accurate. Please do note that they are absolutely correct in saying this is not an entirely quiet location. Ear plugs are provided. Within walking distance of the Santa Fe Depot(train station). Lil less than a couple mile walk to Balboa Park. Very centrally located.
Small but pretty neat studio in walking distance to so many things Sam Diego has to offer (restaurants, waterfront, public transit, bus tours, etc). Getting there I was worried about traffic noise right outside the door but it totally died down after 10pm and I slept great!
Good space and location. The description of the property is on point. If you want an always quiet space, this isn’t it. If you want convenience to downtown San Diego and don’t mind city noise, book it. The noise quiets down around 10p. It was not disruptive to us.
We had such an amazing time on our trip to San Diego. We had some amazing food, stumbled upon a farmers market, Brazillian Fest, a roof top movie, goodwill bins (if you like thrifting), and our favorite the margarita flight with pork belly nachos. Our host was great, the apartment was perfect in everyway. And I didn’t think the sound level from outside was loud at all. Overall 1000/10!
I read the reviews so I knew what to expect. I was apprehensive but when I got to this space it was nicer than I hoped. I loved the easy access right off the street so I could pop in and out easily as I walked all over Little Italy. There was some street noise but that didn’t bother me - I felt safe and secluded. I would love to come back! I will keep checking the calendar for availability!
First of all - NOT a queen bed!! This is very much false advertising because the bed was not a queen, it was definitely a full sized bed which felt crammed for two adults. Overall, it was fine for a 3-night stay as long as you are not spending time in the room. You are paying for location, not size or space. The location was great and we had no trouble with noise, as it is on the ground level. My only wishes/suggestions are for a TRUE queen bed or an accurate listing, more towels, and a coffee maker that actually had the directions and correct pods.

Close to Little Italy
I love how close this property was to the Amtrak train station and Little Italy. The only negative things about it was there was not a microwave and the tv was not working and no response from the host about the tv or any effort in fixing it. The remote needed recharging and there was only 1 channel available. Otherwise, the unit was clean and another thing to note is the front door is directly on the street.
The unit is in a good location (close to Little Italy), but the street this unit is located on (Ash) smells like urine from either dogs or people without shelter.
Check-in is easy, but the unit is located on the ground floor so you have to keep the blinds shut otherwise people can see straight in unless you close the blackout curtains. At night, you walk into complete darkness and feel around for the light switch behind the door on the far right wall while your eyes adjust. Clap-on or smart lights would come in handy.
As other reviewers have said, you also hear EVERYTHING. It was nice that the owners provided earplugs, but even with those in at night, we could hear the neighbors above walking around, every word of conversations from people walking by, street cleaners sweeping or spraying the streets, TV/movie dialog from other units in the building, sirens from emergency vehicles, exhaust systems from cars driving by, dogs barking and more. If you can fall asleep, don't expect high-quality sleep. This is probably the noisiest place I've ever rented from any VRBO-type site.
Once you're in the unit, there's a bed, a desk, a mini fridge and table with an "espresso" maker, a few places to sit, a mirror, and a full (but small) bathroom. There is no kitchen. We were also given a single roll of the world's thinnest, single-layer toilet paper so don't forget to bring your own.
If it weren't for the noise, I'd stay here again, but otherwise, I'm staying elsewhere.
Great little place to crash for the weekend while we attended a festival at petco park. We walked to the trolley which dropped us right off at the park. Eating places within walking distance as well. Would stay here again
