very nice place, a little disappointed in the room
this is a very nice quiet hotel, but there are a few things useful to know.....avoid room one which has no aircon working and is a bit dark. most rooms don't have a sea view and the road is a bit dirty. book well in advance as they get busy. the restaurant is great and the staff are very attentive at all times.

Beautiful peaceful oceanfront hotel
Beautiful setting. Huge spacious room with brilliant ocean view. Comfortable bed. All plumbing works consistently well. Great location with lovely walk into town. Gripe: many ‘rules’ and rather unfriendly staff largely detract from notion of hospitality. Breakfast food often ran low, selection somewhat uninteresting.

The hotel is located quite far away from the center of Santa Maria. As such, it is very quiet and the only noise you can hear in the night is the waves’ one. The staff is very kind and professional. Few cons: no buffet breakfast, no conditioner in the showers and the street to get there is not ideal.

Quiet and comfortable hotel
Comfortable hotel at the opposite end of Santa Maria to the big resorts, by the windsurfing beach and 10 mins walk to the centre of town (don't let that put you off as well lit and safe). Room was big. Hotel and room kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast choice is ok but might become boring if there longer than a week, evening meal we tried was delicious (and always some live music in the evening which is nice). Pool was pretty cold at the end of Feb but didnt stop me from having a daily dip. Great cocktails poolside! Staff we're clearly getting ready for summer repainting and deep cleaning every part of the hotel over the week we were there. They really work hard to keep it in good appearance.

Ce fut un merveilleux séjour mega reposant au sein de cet hôtel! Le personnel était aux petits soins pour nous. Tout était ZEN et RELAX. Les chambres sont jolies et la piscine magnifique. Le petit déjeuner : très bien! Les prix hors pension : chers (ex : mini bouteille d’eau à 2 euros).

"Budha" is a right name for the hotel , its a very quiet nice place , a bit away from big beaches and town crowds but within walking distance from all the "life", so we enjoyed a lot the calm chilling afternoon near the pool after busy days . People in the hotel are very nice , the manager Armanda was the top, she always was welcoming, warm and helpful whenever we needed. Loved the place and recommend.

Fine hotel with great staff.
We stayed in a suite which I measured to be about 15x5.5 meters. Simply huge. The breakfast was great and the staff in the restaurant was just so friendly and kind. At the reception we had the pleasure to talk with all the people on duty. Great people. Special thanks to Armanda for her unique way to interact with the guests. If you’re considering this hotel, don't let the 800 meters to the center of Santa Maria keep you from booking it. The distance is easily walked or a taxi can pick you up or take you for 2-3 euros. The small beach behind the hotel has a lot of rocks, but the one 200 meters away by the fitness equipment is great. All in all a great experience and I highly recommend this hotel.

Loved Budha Hotel. The room and bathroom was clean and spacious! Melanie and Amanda really went beyond and above to accommodate us. The breakfast was made to order and delicious! We were a 15 minute walk to beaches, shops and restaurants. They had plenty of pool lounge chairs and beds. They even helped us book a last minute excursion! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sal.

Virkelig dejligt hotel med super beliggenhed tilpas langt fra travlheden i centrum, men alligevel kun 10-minutters gang derfra. Hotelpersonalet var utrolig venligt og servicen altid i top. Smuk belligenhed, lækker pool - tre minutter fra en dykkerskole og med perfekte loungestole til at sole sig. Med andre ord, alt til enhver smag - alt sammen til meget rimelig pris. :-)

Wir waren eine Woche da und der Aufenthalt hat uns sehr gefallen. Es war sauber, das Personal freundlich und sehr hilfreich. Wir sind wegen Corona ein paar Tage früher abgeflogen und hatten deswegen keine zusätzlichen Kosten. Sehr kulant und hilfsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wieder buchen.

AWFUL Hotel
Hotel was impossible to call or connect with. Awful customer service. Clearly didn't want our business, only our money. Lost money and was very poorly treated. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Pro: Zimmer mit riesigem Bett mit toller Matratze. Hotel liegt sehr abgelegen, daher sehr ruhig. Schöner Pool, überwiegend mit großzügigen Doppel-Liegen. Contra: Frühstück gibt's nur von 08.00 bis 10.00 Uhr, man sollte allerdings zeitig kommen, denn ab 09.00 Uhr wird grundsätzlich nichts mehr nachgefüllt! Die Auswahl ist für ein 4-Sterne-hotel ziemlich bescheiden. Es gibt neben einem kleinen Buffet eine kleine Karte mit einer Handvoll Speisen (Spiegeleier, Omelett, etc.) zur Auswahl. Allerdings darf man davon strikt nur eine einzige Speise auswählen. Frischgepresster Fruchtsaft wird extra verrechnet (6,50 Euro!). Wir haben 20 Minuten auf Spiegeleier gewartet und trotzdem ist dann noch rohes Eiklar drauf geschwommen... Hat man sich mal einen Teller geholt, darf man seinen Tisch nicht mehr verlassen, denn sonst fallen sofort die unzähligen Spatzen über dein Essen her. Diese fliegen auch direkt zum Buffet! Von Vögeln angeknabbertes Essen ist dann eher ekelhaft. Das Personal lacht allerdings nur dazu. Überall im Hotel wird darauf hingewiesen, dass man Wasser sparen soll, gleichzeitig wurde uns gesagt, dass sämtliche Handtücher TÄGLICH gewaschen werden! Geht man am frühen Abend duschen, so wie es halt die meisten Gäste machen, gibt es nur lauwarmes bis kaltes Wasser zum Duschen. 1-lagiges WC-Papier ist in einem 4-Sterne-Hotel ein No-go! Der Swimmingpool ist zwar sehr groß, aber durchgehend nur 1,20 Meter tief! Baden im Meer ist nahezu unmöglich.

Séjour parfait, au clame, légèrement excentré du centre ville de Santa Maria mais loin d'être un point négatif. Les chambres sont vraiment spacieuse, le personnel adorable, les prix du bar, restaurant vraiment abordables...

Amazing hotel, food and location. Located at the quiet end of the hotel strip with a beautiful pool, clean cabanas, and on the beach. Also only a 5 minute walk to all of the other restaurants, shops and bars in town. Although, we found the food at the hotel to be even better than that of the other restaurants, and at the same price. We also opted for the late checkout for the midnight flight back to Lisbon.

The hotel and surrounding area was immaculate. Safe and sound with just a 10 minute walk into town. I’d walk late at night and never felt danger. More importantly there was always security there to greet me when I returned. The food was good and the staff was sweet!

Excelente hotel ! Recepcão incrível dos funcionários. Chegamos antes do horário e nos convidaram a tomar um café da manha incrível enquanto aguardávamos o quarto. O café da manha, apesar de poucas opçoēs,não deixa a desejar em qualidade e sabor e contém opçoes em cardápio além do buffet. Quartos confortáveis,de onde é possível ouvir o barulho das ondas a noite. Cardápio do restaurante do hotel incrível e possui desconto para hóspedes. Atendimento impecável. Quartos novos e muito confortáveis . Apesar de um pouco afastado, indiscutivelmente a melhor escolha em sal. O hotel precisa de um pouco mais de carinho na pintura da piscina, e uma melhoria nas areas externas, mas nada que desabone a estadia, Funcionario Paulo perfeito, um dos melhores atendimentos que recebemos no mundo. Um local a se voltar, com maiores investimentos , uma sauna e hidro, e uma variedade maior no cafe, junto com uma reposicao melhor no cafe, e mais variedade, com certeza a melhor escolha de Sal
