Oasis in the Sea Islands
Our family had such a nice stay on Harbor Island. This visit was sandwiched between a weekend in Charleston and a stay on Hilton Head Island and it was just what we needed. The condo itself had plenty of space for our family of 4 to spread out and be comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook meals and do laundry. The views from the living room deck were amazing. We enjoyed both pools and highly recommend spending sunset at the main community pool for the beautiful view over the marsh. While we were there, there was an informative session on the loggerhead turtles that nest on the beach. We were not sure what to expect of the river-meets-ocean beach, and when we arrived at low tide, were amazed to find what seemed like miles of beach before the water. This wouldn't be great for a beach day, but for late afternoon walks, it was perfect. We discovered horseshoe crabs, lots of birds, and an out of this world landscape. At high tide, the water is right there by the access. We really appreciated the Hunting Island pass included in the condo. The neighboring island is a state park and is the beautiful white sand, palm lined beach we were hoping for. No hotels, no shops, just unspoiled beach and a lighthouse. It was perfect. We couldn't help but feel like we were on a Caribbean island. Back at the condo, we enjoyed wifi, AC, and time together. We walked around the neighborhood to see another beautiful sunset and got up early for the sunrise. Can't wait to go back!
