"My wife, 2 dogs and I had a great stay at this vacation home in the Dordogne region. The location of the rental is central to several excellent wineries and nearby cities. The local market is walking distance to the property and they sell fresh clams on the weekends. The property does offer a sauna and hot tub which are nice and the hosts were very attentive to our needs. There was an issue with a barking dog next store but this was quickly resolved. "We stayed here for 4 nights and would have been happy to stay longer—-I miss it already! The room was spacious and well appointed and the air conditioning was spectacular in the August heat. The pool area was beautiful and the pool itself was warm and well kept. There are several great restaurants (Le Julien, La Maison D’estournel, Bistro Des Vignes) within a short drive (5-15 minutes) but note that you will need a car to get to any of them. It is also a great jumping off point to the wineries of the Medoc region. We loved the serenity of the hotel and the feeling of privacy. Just a note that the shower is somewhat “open concept”. This will be fine for couples but may be awkward for others travelling together. We will certainly return."

"Our stay at the Chateau was wonderful. We were warmly greeted, given a tour and as hungry travelers in on a Sunday afternoon, given a beautiful cheese plate with warm bread and wine to enjoy in the garden. The chateau itself is beautiful, the grounds are sprawling, surrounded by vineyards, with huge walnut trees all over providing shade, plenty of patios to tuck into and read, a large and clean pool. The room we stayed in was huge and very well decorated, with easily the most comfortable bed I've slept in. Everything was perfection, peaceful, and warm. We did dinner a couple nights at the nearby de la maison d’estournal, and while that may be a 5 star hotel, the warmth and care put into our stay at Château Ormes de Pez was incredibly special and easily a highlight to the trip. We can't wait to return."

"Wir haben eine sehr schöne Woche in diesem wunderschönen, großen Haus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt und sehr gut ausgestattet. Besonders in der Küche fehlt es an nichts. Alle Räume (Wohn-/Essbereich mit Küche, 3 Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbetten, 1 Schlafzimmer mit 3 Einzelbetten, 2 Bäder, 2 WC, 1 Hauswirtschaftsraum) befinden sich auf einer Ebene. Die Matratzen waren gut und die Bettwäsche sehr angenehm. Im Außenbereich gibt es eine teils überdachte Terrasse. Das Grundstück ist riesig, teils noch etwas kahl, aber Bäume und Büsche wurden bereits gepflanzt. Der Pool ist groß und äußerst gepflegt. Er wird regelmäßig gesäubert und die Wasserqualität kontrolliert. Es gibt eine Außendusche und ein weiteres WC in Poolnähe. Neben dem Pool steht ein Baum, der etwas Schatten spendet. Ein paar Sonnenschirme wären bei Hitze wünschenswert. Restaurants oder Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es nicht fußläufig, aber wenige Kilometer entfernt. Durch den Eigentümer wurden uns mehrere Restaurants empfohlen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Eigentümer verlief problemlos und war sehr angenehm. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Einzig die nächtlichen Störungen durch einen häufig bellenden Hund auf einem der Nachbargrundstücke haben den Genuss ein klein wenig geschmälert. Vielen Dank für den schönen Urlaub!"

"An amazingly beautiful property and building. I can not say enough how wonderful our stay was and how caring the staff were. If I have to be picky, I do wish they had a fridge in the rooms or one that could be used by the guests in the kitchen (this is helpful if you are traveling with babies or small children). However, everything else was fantastic! Please also note that they close the pool at 6 pm."
