タイの秘境
雰囲気がとてもダイナミックでいいです　船にのり10分ぐらいで到着します夕方６時までに船にのらなくてはなりません　こんな山の中に人がいるのかと思って行ってみると日本人は我々だけで９０パ－セントぐらいは西洋人であまりにもたくさんの人数でこられているのでびっくりしました　日常を忘れてなにもせずのんびりするのには最高です 今まで高層のリゾ－トホテルばかり宿泊していましたが　このホテルには衝撃をうけました ただ一つ改善してほしいのはシャワ－の温度をもうすこし暖かくしてほしいです

シャワーのお湯が出なくて、フロントに言おうかと電話を探したら無くて、面倒だなーと思ったのと、無線LANがたまたま使えなかったのは残念でした。

電気がない
まさか電気がないとは思いませんでした。 ドライヤーもなければ、コンセントもない、シャワーも水シャワー。 オイルランプのみ、Wi-Fiはレストランのみで使用可能でしたが接続が悪い。 暗くなる前にシャワーを浴びたり用事を済ませた。 昼はハンモックでのんびり、夜は川の流れる音にとても癒されながら寝れた。 朝は象が近くで見れ、餌付けも出来た。 なかなかできない貴重な体験が出来ましたが、電気がないことさえ大丈夫ならバカンスにはいいと思う。

ホテルは可愛い！でもダニが。。。
本当に僻地！車では到着できない場所にあります。最寄りの駐車場まで行き、船で5分ほど移動してようやく到着できます。最寄りのナムトック駅は車で15分くらいだったかと思いますが、ホテルのレセプションの対応は気がきかず、翌日の車について聞いても料金がかかることも伝えられず、更には時間が違っていてバタバタでした。加えて部屋は清潔なのですがベッドにはダニが多かったようで沢山さされてしまいました。。。マイナスイオンはたっぷりだし、癒しに最適なせっかくの素敵なホテルなのに残念な感じです。

Great River Hotel
Remote but easily accessible by car or ferry boat from the nearest pier! Excellent and friendly service during our stay with great food and breakfast buffet with lots of options! Very quite and relaxing environment!

Sometimes you go to a place that is good for the soul. This is River Kwai Resotel. It is so relaxing and refreshing to be there. The environment is serene, the food is great and the staff are so warming and accomdating. I rarely leave reviews, but felt compelled to leave one for this property. It's a 10 out of 10 from me and my family.

Property restaurant is ok, but the service was horrible. Ordered a bottle of white wine- no ice bucket came, ordered 3 cokes and a water which never came until we got them ourself. Had to get back up for glasses, wrong dishes came out after 45min to an hour. Others had came and gone and we didn’t even have our food. One dish came, but with no plates or silverware. It took 10 more minutes to get that, then we had one cold dish. Overall property is nice. The ONLY restaurant available has horrible service.

A hidden oasis of beauty and calmness. The rooms are very well appointed. We chose to drive all the way to the property and had already read reviews about the track leading to the resort...it is not a track, it's a perfectly comfortable road with stunning scenery, so please don't be put off driving there. The views of the river were wonderful, calming and serene. This really is a wonderful resort and one that we will return happily to.

A very beautiful and peaceful resort. The room was big and clean. I liked that the resort is located on a green territory, it felt like living in a park. It was pleasant to walk around and meditate. It is a great escape from big city life. The only downside was the regular noise from the long tail boats that depart from the resort pier from very early in the morning. Also, the staff uses walkie talkies as they clean the rooms and roam around the terrotory and I found that noise somewhat disturbing.

I liked everything about this property... the setting was lush jungle, but beautifully manicured to be inviting without being overwhelming. And of course, set on the banks of the Khwae Noi River, a tributary to the famous River Kwai (Khwae Yai). The staff provided outstanding service and help.. I couldn't have asked for more.

Everything was excellent, very nice tropical resort. Friendly staff and restaurant. My only issue was there were no other restaurants or shops near the hotel. Plus the beer and food was expensive compared to thai prices.

I arrived by rail at Nam Tok and found transport to the Resortel pier where I caught the long tail boat to the resort with no problem. The resort is older bus well maintained. It’s location and surroundings are beautiful. I would definitely go back again. Food at the restaurant was reasonable and acceptable. Staff were friendly.

The hotel is a nice resort in wonderful settings. We travelled there by car and it was OK to find, although you would not want to meet a big lorry coming the other way on the narrow winding road to the hotel. The rooms are bungalows set in grounds with jungle type vegitation around, so its not surprising to find wildlife too. We found a large spider in our room but was able to capture it and put it outside. The disappointments were about noise generated by tour groups early in the morning. Tour groups on rapid turnover seem to be the main business for the hotel. Its not then conducive to independent travellers. The food was not overly good and the tea at breakfast was disgusting. The food and drink was also very expensive. I know the place is a bit out of the way, but its only about twenty minutes drive from Nam Tok where all the usual produce is available.

However, in order to clarify the situation, may we take this rare opportunity to explain that generally, we of course clearly declare the noise policy to all of our guests as ”Making a loud sound in the place is not allowed especially after 10 p.m” Furthermore, we always attempt our best to enforce this strict rule, should there is any violation, the warning process would be properly taken effect immediately. In your case, after thoroughly investigating, we have not received the critical report such a said issue, therefore, we assume that there were probably the client group who came from Europe during your certain date of stay. In addition, normally, such a particular matter seldom happen at here. Based on our data, most guests usually appreciate and absorb the tranquil natural atmosphere quite peacefully without disturbing other visitors by making loud sound. Anyway, please accept our sincere apologies for your inconvenience and we absolutely reemphasized the matter to our staffs so that this would be paid extra attention from our team. As you mentioned regarding our food's taste, may we further add that we certainly realize that each people would have their own favorite taste of food, therefore it's such a delicate matter to particularly debate. Anyway, we would like to strongly express our viewpoint that our chef always meticulously choose, cook and serve finest quality ingredient, fresh local food and new produce every meal so that our client would receive the greatest taste of cuisine while being with us. In addition, we would definitely keep your comment as our precious information for better improvement. Hope to welcome you back. Regards,

Highly Recommend
Beautiful location, right beside the river, the scenery was amazing. The rooms are great, so comfortable. They said WiFi only at reception but there was strong WiFi all the way through the resort. So that was a bonus! And the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant were so friendly and accommodating. I would, and have, recommended to my friends and family.

Great Retreat
This hotel is in a remote location, so if you want to get away from it all - this is your place. Its over 60kms from Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai Museum and Bridge, so a trip to see them can cost between THB1600 - 1800 one way or THB2300 rtn from the hotel. Set right on the river it is peaceful and tranquil but with nothing around it, so all food and drink must be bought from the hotel and they do charge a premium small Chang beer at THB100. The restaurant serves reasonable food but they do like staying open past 9.00 p.m.- Breakfast is average. Rooms are in a fair condition and 'rustic' in nature

Considérablement déçu....
J ai réservé ce resort au vu des commentaires trés positifs,j aurai mieux fait de m abstenir. A part l arrivée folklorique qui se fait en pirogue jusqu'au resort,il n y a rien d'exceptionnel. À l arrivée,pas de staff pour porter les valises alors que le chemin est assez raide pour se rendre à la réception. La majorité du staff ne parle pas anglais ,sauf TukTuk qui s occupe à la fois de la réception et du bureau excursions,et qui est donc beaucoup trop sollicitée et débordée. Excursions non disponibles(pas d éléphant pour un trekking car trop vieux ou pas de vélos car ce n'est pas la saison:cherchez l erreur! Sinon,excursions beaucoup trop chères ,exemple:30 minutes de pirogues :1000 baths...c'est abusé. L hôtel a le monopole de la restauration et de tout le reste,donc tout est trop cher et moyennement encadré :amateurisme flagrant ! De nombreux touristes bruyants de passage pour une nuit via les tours operateurs. Mais où est donc le côté authentique de la jungle et du calme décrits dans certains commentaires?!??!?! Nourriture assez bonnes,mais onéreuses. Bungalows bien emménagés,mais évitez ceux proches de la rivière et de la piscine/bâtiment d acceuil car trop bruyants.(va-et-viens des pirogues et touristes peu discrets). J ai également payé 2 fois la même addition,mais impossible de prouver ma bonne foi:des escrocs?!?!? En résumé,les merveilleuses photos sur le site ne reflètent en aucun cas la réalité.....

Un 10 en paisajismo y decoración.
El paisajismo y la decoración están cuidados en extremo. Las cabañas en sí son muy bonitas y confortables. Cama cómoda y baño funcional. El restaurante tiene mucha variedad y la comida está buena. Piscina con horario amplio.Wifi únicamente en las zonas comunes pero con muy buena velocidad. A un paseo de Lawa Cave, unas cuevas bastante chulas para visitar. El resto de las visitas interesante del parque están en la otra orilla pero el hotel tiene servicio gratuito de transporte para cruzar a la otra orilla; una vez allí una carreterita de dos kilómetros te lleva a la "main road" donde tiene justo parada el autobús que recorre el parque de norte a sur con parada en las principales atracciones. El hotel es un auténtico paraíso ensombrecido por algunos puntos negativos que supongo irán solucionando. Las toallas, tanto de la habitación como de la piscina estaban en un estado lamentable. El desayuno no estaba a la altura, los contenedores de comida estaban sin tapar con los mosquitos rondando, esto era debido en parte al siguiente punto negativo: el personal. El personal parecía poco entrenado para el trabajo. En el desayuno el personal del hotel no tenía ningún indicativo por lo que no sabías bien a quien dirigirte con posibles consultas o solicitudes. El hotel todavía tiene cabañas sin acabar por lo que el ruido de las obras por las mañanas rompe la paz del lugar.

I did not know what to expect as I booked this hotel kind of on a whim and in the middle of booking several other hotels. I found out that this hotel was far from the city thanks to a tour guide and was amazed when we actually arrived. It is in a secluded jungle area. Really nice, quiet and different than any other hotel I stayed in.
