Small boutique hotel in tunbridge wells. Nice breakfast staff are fantastic super nice and friendly. We stayed here to be near friends that live local. Walkable to and from train station takes about 45 minutes or so to get a train to London.

Good price, very convenient location. Free parking and a nice full English breakfast included. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Stayed in a twin room which was a last minute booking for myself and a friend. Yes the hotel is dated and a bit quirky but it's welcoming with friendly helpful staff, has character and breakfast is included. Beds were comfortable with fresh white linen.

On arrival at the Russell hotel was a bit sceptical.. The building is a bit dated but l pleasantly surprised. Warm welcome by the owner. Our room was ground floor disability room prefect for me as l can't manage steps. The room was very clean, very comfortable beds with crisp white sheets. 3 pillows on each bed , white towels and soap and shower gel. Plenty of tea and coffee, the kettle was also clean. Smart TV hairdryer everything we needed for a comfortable day. We couldn't get a Uber soon sorted by the owner. For to mention on site bar for drink too. The breakfast plentyful tea coffee toasts real butter and Jams. Full English the sausage was very tasteful. We didn't wait long for breakfast either. I would definitely recommend staying there. We will return if we are in the area again. Many thanks to all the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely clean friendly hotel in a great location The staff are very friendly and accommodating , the rooms warm and clean and very comfy beds, shower a little small but powerful ! The breakfast was very tasty ! Also has a car park which was a bonus !

It was good for a quick night away. Room dated, you can hear the neighbouring rooms. Tiny tv. Loo felt unsafe to sit on. The bed had a plastic feel sheet under the bedsheet which was noisy and strange. Issues, but ok.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was cooked to order and presented quickly. We had booked a twin room and was given a room with three singles. The room was very spacious but very tired and tatty. The corner of the floor in front of the shower had a puddle of slimey water.The mattress protector on the bed i used was a little stained and one of the chairs was wobbly and the vinyl was torn. the Russell hotel is a lovely building and so much potential. A little investment and i would be happy to return.

Enjoyable overnight stay
This is the second time we have stayed at the Russell Hotel and once again found the staff most pleasant and extremely helpful. Our room, bed linen & towels were spotlessly clean and the inclusive breakfasts were delicious. Being so close to town, it is convenient if you wish to see a show at The Assembly Hall Theatre, browse the shops, meet friends or just explore Tunbridge Wells in general. Would have no hesitation in returning, should we visit this historic town in the future.

I have shared before and I am happy to confirm my previous post. The Russell hotel is a friendly and welcoming hotel. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to accommodate guests. I travel a lot around the South of England and will give 5 stars to this venue for comfort and value for money. Wish my stays could be longer.

All good. Would return again in the future.
Pleasant stay. Room: Quiet, clean, and well-appointed. Towels and bed linen: Clean and maintained. Shower: Even though the room was right at the top of the building, had plenty of hot water and sufficient pressure. Wireless internet: Fast and unfiltered. Fixtures, fittings, furniture, etc.: Clean and in good repair. Bed: Comfortable. Parking: straightforward. Staff: pleasant and helpful. Breakfast: fresh and of good quality (though the guy serving it seemed pretty busy). Check-in and check-out: easy and didn't require waiting around.

Nice place; super friendly staff. Windows could use screens; thankfully staff had a fan we could use during the unusually late heatwave at the time. Excellent breakfast and easy parking.

Pleasant stay
Very welcoming staff. Breakfasts were very well cooked and plenty for us. We had a large accessible room, the only drawback was to get to the room there were a few steps which I found difficult and this room would not be suitable for a wheelchair user. I believe there many be other accessible rooms available.

Dated and worrying fire escape
The decore is very dated. However the most worrying thing is the lack of escape routes. We were on the top floor with only one staircase-escape route and you were so high up there was escaping from the window.

Friendly welcome and quick check-in. This is essentially a B&B hotel, priced accordingly. Room was clean and had the usual facilities (kettle and tea/coffee making stuff, soap and shower gel, small but adequate TV). Bed was comfortable and I slept all night with no interruptions. My room was top floor (number 51) so a lot of stairs and I half expected problems with shower pressure and wifi range but no - the walk-in shower was plenty powerful enough and was still hot at 5:30pm and 8:30am, and the free wifi in the room was plenty fast enough for streaming (over 50Mb/sec download). The breakfast was generous and cooked to order. Adjacent car park is free to guests (a dozen or so spaces with only one empty when I arrived just after 5pm). Convenient 5 minute walk to the main street at the "top" of the town with plenty of places to eat (including a Wetherspoons in an opera house!) and about 15 mins walk to the "bottom" of the town and the Pantiles area. Some of the common areas in the hotel were rather worn and shabby, but these didn't spoil my stay and there seems to be a programme of renewal. I only used this hotel for one night B&B, so didn't use the bar. Overall, it got the essentials right and I would definitely stay again.

Nice friendly 2 star hotel.
This hotel is 2 star rated by the AA. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spacious with plenty of cupboards and drawers. The beds were comfy and clean and the building is located close to eateries and shops. However, the building is very tired and seriously in need of decorating and updating, the bathroom was clean but really needs total refit. But if all that was done the star rating would probably change and room charges would go up. It is what it is, and breakfast was nicely served too.

Good honest hospitality
Great stay. Spacious room for 3 . Clean , lovely big towels and all you need for a comfortable stay. Staff very helpful and lovely English cooked breakfast. Would stay again .
