"A lovely traditional house in a typical Cretan village away from the tourist hotspots. Our host spoke good English and was very welcoming and helpful. The bakery sells wonderful trays of Baklava which we enjoyed on our spacious roof terrace, a great place for breakfast too. "

"One of the best properties to stay in Crete to get the real Cretan countryside feeling. Magnificent mountain and hill views, comfortable room and very nice people. Part of the Skalani area, good access to highways, and only 15 minutes drive to the center of Heraklion. "

"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"We’ve been traveling in Greece for a month and this stay has been the most amazing. The host has thought of every luxury and convenience. From the private pool to the high-end finish out of the houses, it is just stunning. The kitchen is so well stocked to make anything. "Evva was really friendly and helpful, and our accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We didn't like the fact that the shower was handheld only. Also, the villa is located at the stop of a very steep hill, so although the town enter is not far away, it's not the easiest walk."

"The house was a lovely old Cretan house renovated to a high standard, and Popi was a wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable host - really friendly and full of suggestions of where to go next. You will need to have a car to get around as it is not at all central, and do not expect a modern building - but it was full of character and the aircon worked very well, so in my eyes it was perfect! I would happily stay here again, and hope to do so some day in the coming years."
