「Excellent accommodation and experience, wonderful staff」

「Cool building but hotel itself needs rennovation. Room, to our great surprise, had no bathroom (or ac, or accessible plugs, or adequate lighting, or bedside table). Street noise is CONSIDERABLE, especially the trains which seem like they are running through the room, several times a nights. 「I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.」

「This motel was very average. Although it’s clearly had a paint job in the last few years it really needed some maintenance done. The shower leaked badly & could really do with a decent clean. Reception didn’t appear to have anyone there at anytime, so getting clean towels etc was hard work. The only thing it had going for it was a comfortable bed!」
