We had an amazing time staying at this villa – it exceeded all our expectations. The property was beautifully maintained, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The views from were breathtaking, and we especially loved the peaceful surroundings. The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. We traveled as a family of four, and the villa was perfect for both relaxing and spending quality time together. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for stress-free escape!

Silvio and Monica were wonderful hosts at the villa that has been in her family for generations. The room was spacious and comfortable though not fancy and the garden was lovely. We were minutes to Trastevere but our room was quiet and we slept great. We are often used to Four Season type accommodations but wanted to be near our daughter who is studying nearby. The $$ we saved staying here instead paid for our dinners all week! Silvio could not have been nicer helping us with parking (which we found free on the street), calling cabs, etc. Our bed was remade every day and new towels were laid out-more than I can say for some 4 and 5 star hotels these days. If you want to stay on the hip side of the river and don't mind comfortable and simple over expensive and grand, I highly recommend!

Roman Oasis

Beautiful iron gate opening to an oasis in the city. Beautiful building, room and best of all - the garden terrace where we were served delicious pastries and cappuccino for breakfast. We could have been happy just staying there the whole day. Sylvio was so friendly and helpful. I will dream often of our stay there!

Four Day Rome City Break

A very enjoyable four day city break. Excellent location in Trastevere; good tram and bus connections for city sights and excellent night life/eating out in the local area. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel right in the heart of Trastevere

The place is amazing and in a perfect location right in Trastevere. The bars and restaurants are all a 5 minute walk away but you're far enough away from all the noise so can have a quiet nights sleep The garden they have is lovely, perfect for breakfast or just to unwind after a busy day site seeing Silvio and his team are perfect hosts and always available with any questions

Great stay on Trastevere’s edge

Silvio is a fabulous host. Lovely villa. Comfy beds. Peaceful gardens, perfect for outdoor breakfasts. Kadya is a kind,friendly breakfast helper/server. Location was easy to catch a tram or bus from. 2 buses directly outside the hotel gates. Grazie, Silvio!

Perfect base to explore Trastevere and Rome sights

Villa Matissa was the perfect little place to stay for a few nights in Rome .. the location was very quiet , easy walk to Trastevere for dinner and drinks. The room large with perfect air conditioning and comfortable bed. Breakfast out on the garden was lovely . Silvio amazing host , helped us book whatever we needed . Will defiantly be back !!

We loved our stay at Villa Matissa. Morning coffee and pastry in the peaceful garden oasis was an unforgettable experience. Its Trastevere location put us walking distance from all of the sights we were excited to see. And we greatly appreciated the transfer they arranged for us from FCO airport. A wonderful stay!

Such a special quiet place to return to after the hustle of Rome. Great location close to the fun of Trastevere. Beautiful garden to relax in and especially nice for breakfast. Large and very airy rooms. Silvio and his team make you feel so at home. Highly recommend.

Completely perfect in all respects. Boutique style with all the amenities of a 4 star chain. Very friendly owner who helped us book airport transport. A lovely walk into the centre (pantheon) area but in a little buzzing area of it's own for meals, ice-cream, and drinks. Would most definitely go back!
