a little hard to find: hint, look for the address on the garbage cans, because the addresses get a bit wonky further down the block, but this is a lovely spot on the north shore if all you're looking for is a clean bed on a quiet street, and the two bedrooms are so much better for friends or families than would be two rooms in the hotel by the highway -- oh, and there's a nice bagel place just north of the Starbucks on the corner of 25A

Cozy, clean and private! A tremendously helpful find for our family during a difficult time. Host was very friendly and wonderfully accommodating. Price refreshingly reasonable. We will definitely be returning for annual family visits in the area.

Quiet and Cozy

The property manager ensured that booking and check in went smoothly. If you're looking for a 5 star resort or party house, this is NOT the location for you. However, if you're looking for a peaceful getaway on the north shore of Long Island, within walking distance to the beach with your small family, including pet, check it out. Is it flawless? well, no. But you'll find flaws where you look for them. The better question in my mind would be "would I opt to stay there again?".. and the answer is simply "yes". We appreciate the warm hospitality, as well as peace of mind of knowing that the property manager would have been easily accessible, had we had any issue.

Tammy was great and in a great location. The pups liked walking to the beach and swimming in the water. Was perfect for what we needed.

The beach is private and you need to be a Brookhaven resident to be admitted. This is not specified anywhere on the listing. Communication about this with the owner via app was rather poor.

Dirty refrigerator, freezer, sink and bathroom. Paid for early check in and someone walked right in on us to bring towels and told us we shouldn't be there until regular check in time 4p. Host was rude and not at all accommodating. Would never recommend this unit to anyone.

Beach apartment

Cute apartment. This is a first floor apartment of a 2 family house. This apartment is used by the homeowners as there is a lot of personal items through the apartment. Backyard is huge and beautifully maintained. We did not get to enjoy it much durning our stay because of bad weather but there is a nice BBQ couch, chairs, koi pond, table for meals & a spa/hot tub. Never seen one like this before it looked a little small but like I said I couldn’t really check it out because of the weather…. Beach is a short 2 block walk. It is rocky beach as is the north shore and the name of this rental, but a nice beach to check out.

Bad all around

We were sent to the wrong house that we payed for, even after several calls to VRBO to insure that we got the right house. Your listing was messed up causing this problem. We will never use you again!!!

It was very hard to find. The address you put into GPS takes you to a spot farther down the beach. We tried it on 2 different apps. There was a sewer smell throughout that was attempted to be covered by blade plug-ins and febreeze. The plumbing was not installed correctly and needs to be repaired. It stated it sleeps 6, but definitely doesn’t accommodate 6 throughout the house. - Only Two towels provided - Dining table would have to be pulled out away from wall to accommodate a sixth person, to the point it would cover the door to the only bathroomThe overall condition was medium to poor with large gaps in everything filled with caulk or boards to cover gaps. There was Dog hair everywhere to include sheets and the pull out couch. The Shower door is completely unaligned. You have to lift up the door to be able to open/ close it. Could be difficult for an older person. It is stated to be a beach house. However the only beach nearby is a members only beach to which the house does not have access. This is not noted in the VRBO post. When we asked about a nearby public beach we received a one sentence reply stating, “Yes, there is a public beach.” With no additional information. There is an old beat up car in the drive way that makes parking for more than one car difficult.

Dirty & Disrepair

We walked in and in every room possible there was plug-ins. The bathroom toilet had urine on the bottom hair on the seat. The shower was not cleaned. There was hair in it also and the molding around the shower and the caulking was all coming off, and it was black. There was dust on all the furniture. Hair on the floors so evidently it was not cleaned even though she said it was. She had her tenant from upstairs; an older gentleman come down to clean the bathroom. I took a broom to the floors because I didn't want to walk in it. Glad it was only 2 nights.

Did not enjoy our stay

I feel bad leaving a bad review but people looking to book should know. From the second we walked in the door it smelled like a kennel, there was animal hair on couch and human hair in shower. I tried calling VRBO to be refunded so that we could go to a hotel and they said I was unable to get a refund so we had to stay. I had to get our vacuum out of storage and buy a mop to clean the floors. I then bought fitted sheets and encased the beds and couch in them. The kitchen table with seating for 6 had 3 broken chairs so my husband and I stood to eat while the kids used the 3 chairs. I even bought a new area rug for one of the bedrooms because the animal smell from the one in there was so bad we couldn’t even sleep in there. I complained to the owner about the smell and she said I was the first to complain but after reading the reviews I wish I read prior I see that I’m not the first to complain. There were also glade plug ins inside each electrical socket that leads me to believe she must be aware of the smell.

Worst Experience stuck at almost 10:00 p.m. trying to find a place to stay.

My family and I were looking forward to a good nights rest after a beautiful day out on the East end. We checked in around 8:30pm and immediately noticed the home smelled like moth balls. The bed sheets and blankets were not clean. In addition to the hair, crumbs, debris, lint and lint balls on the sheets there was a FLOSS PICK in the bed. The shower was also dirty, the kitchen sink had a piece of rice and some other food particles, the edge of the kitchen counter was coming off and there was used food products in the refrigerator. I contacted the host. She was very nasty and said "No one is coming out at 9:00 at night to change sheets." So I asked her what does she suggest that we do because my family and I could not stay in the home in that condition. She told me that there were extra sheets in the closet that I could change the sheets myself. Although not happy about having to change the sheets and clean the house myself because our family was tired I was willing. However, the sheets that were in the closet had lint balls all over them and did not smell clean. She then offered to have sheets delivered from Walmart but would do nothing about the other issues. I called VRBO and sent them about 15 photos to show the conditions. They were no help. I tried to call the host back but received her voicemail. Also sent her messages via VRBO explaining that my family and I could not stay there. No response from the owner so we left. At almost 10pm we had to find a place to sleep

This is a fine place to stay if you just need somewhere to crash for the night. We arrived after dark and the host left zero instructions on how to find/access the house other than the door lock code. It feels strange because there were two cars in the driveway and I had no option but to block one of them in and I was concerned I was inconveniencing the upstairs tenants. We were genuinely worried that we were trying the lock code on the wrong house and only knew we were at the right place when it worked and unlocked the door. The place is fine, had all the amenities you would need but definitely wasn’t the cleanest. There was noticeable dog hair in the carpet in the bedroom and there definitely is a funky sewage smell in the living room area. The shower door is broken and you have to solve a puzzle to get it open, all while being concerned you’re going to break the glass. Again, we crashed here for one night. Got there at 9 pm and were out by 9 am and it served its purpose and was an affordable option. I would just be disappointed if I picked this place for a week long vacation.
