Cantwell Prairie is the ultimate Hocking Hills vacation destination! 7 total bedrooms, 2 fishing ponds, seasonal in-ground pool, pet friendly, 40 private acres and a private arcade! The Main Lodge offers 6 bedrooms and room for up to 15 guests and pets and the Guest House has a game room and space for up to 4 guests! Renting this cabin rental in the Hocking Hills area allows guests to use both Main Lodge and Guest House. It is located across from Cantwell Cliffs State Park, so if you decide to venture offsite, hiking is not far away!

Great cabin!

Celebrated my partner’s 30th birthday here with friends and it was fantastic! Lots of space and the dogs were having the time of their lives running around in the backyard. Thank you for making this birthday weekend so enjoyable!

Great place

The place was great my family really enjoyed the space. It was spacious for everyone to hang out and also for people to have their own space. Only downside was the pond was overgrown. You get snagged every time you cast.

Property was as described. Our group enjoyed the privacy and scenery. The pool was a bonus for all ages. Close to hiking trails. Check in/out was easy. Communication with owner was fast. Property was clean. Would stay here again.

Family weekend

The property was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, cookware and dinnerware. There was plenty of room to seat all 12 of us. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and billiards and the fishing ponds were nice. The fire pits and decks, with their ample seating, allowed for plenty of visiting. The only downside was that Internet service was very poor and the Wi-Fi would not connect to the internet, even when the property manager brought a hotspot. Overall, a great stay. We’d stay here again!

Extended family meeting spot

We had 5 different families meet centrally here. The house provided enough room, the pool was great, and while at first the guest house was far away, it worked well when someone was under the weather. The large deck with hot tub and multiple fire rings were perfect for a bit group of mixed ages. Kitchen had whatever we needed. We didn't use the ponds because of location, low water level, and weeds. Nice lawn for activities and dogs. Only negatives were not enough towels for number of people and not able to use ponds.

Good and bad

The outdoor space and location is fantastic. However, the pool was green and you couldn’t see the bottom. It took three days for them to do the necessary maintenance for it to be ready to use, then the kids eyes burned for the next three days. The main house was very roomy, but on the main floor where the family gathered there was no comfortable furniture- just a well worn 2 person love seat that sagged when you sat in it and kitchen table chairs. The couple who shared the master said the mattress was old and uncomfortable and they hadn’t dusted up there for some time. The bachelors in the axillary building thought it was fine.

Blissful

The cabin was cozy and well appointed. There was plenty of space to spread out, but gathering spaces encouraged us to sit together and talk. The back deck is absolutely gorgeous and the property is just beautiful. Very peaceful! Having a guesthouse on the property was also helpful!

The cabin was set in a very private area and would have been hard to find without Google Maps. The rooms in the cabin were a little smaller than expected, and there were no bedside table lamps in the upper bedroom. The pool was appreciated by the young children and their parents, but the adults liked the hot tub.

Great family reunion experience!

Eighteen of our family members age 1 to 71 yo stayed during a very hot week (90's). We found the facilities clean, spacious, comfortably cool, and the pool refreshing. Each of our little preschool to elementary kids were excited to catch their first fish in the well stocked pond. The grounds are well kept, it is quiet, private, yet only about 10 minutes from stores and restaurants in Logan. The deck is large enough to play a bit of cornhole and high enough to sail toy gliders from.
