Okay
Overall this was an okay place to stay but there is room for improvement.
Extremely convenient location and quiet. Enjoyed having my own entrance and parking. Be aware the apartment is only accessible by an outdoor wooden stairway.
The place is pretty spacious except for the bathroom. I appreciated having space heaters and a fan available. Jay kindly took a request for breakfast items prior, and there were coffee and snacks on hand.
Check in and check out was all done by text and I never saw Jay. They have a binder with house rules and detailed info though the check out time was not mentioned there.
Shortly after I checked in, they texted to say that the cable and internet was out and the provider was working on a fix. The outage wasn't Jay's fault, but wifi still didn't work the next morning. After I texted for an update, Jay reset the router, which fixed it.
Despite the thoughtful touches, other things took away from the experience:
-The unit is described as new but it felt dated especially the kitchen
-Lock on the unit entrance was visibly damaged and difficult to use
-Bedroom door doesn't close all the way
-Cobwebs visible on the lights over the breakfast bar and under the bedroom TV
-Stains on the ceiling over the bed
-lights under the bed are a nice touch but too bright for sleeping. Wish there was an on/off switch instead of reaching under the bed to unplug
These are all pretty small issues that could be easily addressed for a better quality experience.
