Die erste Unterkunft war in einem schlechten und unhygienischen Zustand – der Boden klebte, es roch stark (die Ursache wurde durch das Personal gefunden: Rattenkot in der Abstellkammer), im Bad gab es Schimmel und Möbel waren beschädigt. "De verwarming deed het niet goed, zelfs niet nadat een monteur was geweest. Dan is het niet behaaglijk. De vloer was her en der door vocht kapot. De ruiten waren heel vies door vogelpoep, dat was bij alle huizen. Er was geen sfeervolle verlichting. Al met al ademde het huis geen gezellige sfeer. Heel jammer, op zo’n mooie plek. "
