Rab is an island of 93.6 square kilometers. On the island, you will find the village of Lopar which has an abundance of beautiful sandy beaches. The largest and most famous is Rajska Plaža or 'Paradise Beach', which is 1.5km / 0.9m long. The village of Lučica is the starting point for the mini-taxi boats which transport tourists to neighboring beaches. Just a couple of kilometers from Lopar there is Zavratnica fjord, in the nature park of northern Velebit. This is one of the few fjords in the Adriatic where you can find sunken ships from the German navy, which is why it attracts so many tourists - especially divers. The diving club enables tourists to enter a completely different world - an underwater world of harmony, beauty,and silence. The club offers diving courses as well as test dives for amateurs-beginners, rental of equipment,and vessel services. Another attraction worth mentioning is "Medova Buza". This is a natural phenomenon with an underwater entrance to three inter-connected caves. It used to be the habitat of the Mediterranean sea bear after which it was named. Today it is the destination of tourists who often come here to organize underwater weddings.
