Goddess Ixchel basking in the golden glory of sunset. This is the statue of the lady of rainbows, the moon goddess , the fertility goddess of Mayans. This monument is located at Punta Sur, the southern most part of Isla Mujeres. Punta Sur is magnificent. The history and the natural beauty is overwhelming! There is a small amount of fee to enter the monument but it is worth paying. Sunset views are breathtaking from the cliffs of Puta Sur. There are a few local small shops to get souvenirs and some drinks. Tip : Rent a golf cart to ride to Puta Sur from your hotel or from North Beach (if you are on a day trip from Cancun). #golden photo contest#beautifulmonuments#mexico
