My review is not actually for the glamping tent. The owner sent an email several days in advance of my stay letting me know the tents had blown away during a storm. I instead stayed in a Zen Cabin (for no extra charge) and it was wonderful! One of my favorite stays in NZ. Parking is right outside the cabin, easy check-in and entry, beautifully decorated, private kitchenette, private bathroom, comfortable bed facing the ocean in front of a huge picture window.

We were pretty close to the main road with a lot of noise and tucked away from the seaview, as we were round the back of the reception hut.

Would highly recommend this style of flaming.
From arrival to departure we were very impressed with our treatment and the accommodation pod we had booked. There are only cafe facilities at the weekend therefore the need to travel for food and drink was unavoidable but it is only a short drive into Gisborne. The beaches close by are a surfers paradise so would certainly suit the adventurous person, though not myself. An all round excellent stay.

Really enjoyed our night in the glamping tent. It was a stormy night, and the tent coped brilliantly - staying comfy throughout. Nice toilet and shower block, although it would be nice to have some extra toiletries in the shower.

Hopeless place
If you want a place were the staff only care about getting your money and not answering questions about what things to do nearby.
A room that has a fridge, microwave jug and toaster but no power? And no one to assist you when you try to query why you are paying for a room that has no power.
If that sounds like fun then you can go waste your money at this place.
Although the view was nice.
The elevated cabin with a view over the camp and out to sea was very nice.
The staff were hospitable.
But I felt $130 per night was a lot for a shared facilities cabin.
And the cookhouse was much too small to accommodate the number of people staying at the campground and the 1 toilet bowl in the Mens was out of order. 3 in the unisex were available
Awesome spot if looking to get away for a couple of days and not keen on the hustle and bustle of being in Gisborne central but still close enough to get to and from quickly. Comfortable bed and cabin however the fan in our room didn’t work which was a little bit of bummer as the weather was scorching during our stay. We were lucky enough that it was quite breezy with the cabin window and door opened up.
Only thing we would say requires attention is the kitchen cleanliness. Other than that, would recommend.
