Harbour Hotel St Ives

"Our room was huge but our friends room below was tiny. Loved the lift, very good and staff on the whole excellent. Now the things that let it down, event on lowest floor yet staff having to run upstairs to another bar for soft drinks??? Unsure why at some point you wouldnt just bring some downstairs. Pizzas on buffet looked cheap and not the quality the hotel excudes elsewhere. Oh and no veggie sausages at least 2 days in a row. In 2026 to be told the Chef apologises and is trying to source some - yeah even lidl and aldi do linda mccartneys, heck most cornershops stock them, be honest, people appreciate it more. Overall pricey but a lovely hotel, love the outside deck and that its dog friendly, harder and harder to find high standard accomodation thats also pet friendly. Overall a pleasant stay, and helpful staff, events service could be higher with minor tweeks but the cocktails were good and those serving drinks and canapes were friendly and professional. Do not let pizzas out the kitchen looking like that, heck splash out and throw some salad on the plate or something. They looked shop bought even if they werent which should tell you what you need to know. I can get a stonebaked pizza for £10 with toppings from a truck. Maybe we just got them on a bad day but still at £300 per night for a standard room, you do expect it to be at least as tasty as a basic takeaway pizza. Continental breakfast selection was good, everything you'd expect including very tasty overnight oats."

"The apartment location and general design is really excellent, and luxurious in almost every regard. There are more than adequate facilities for a family of 4. Check in was simple via a lock box. Parking adequate - a little tight if you have a larger car, but still doable. We found the beds and sofas very comfy. Useful outside space at the rear, however we weren't able to use it (or even have the door open) on weekdays due to the extremely noisy pile-driving going on next door. Gorgeous views from both the main living space and the master bedroom. 2 great bathrooms, as well as a separate W.C. Couldn't get the dryer to work, so plan time for hanging clothes drying if you do laundry when away. Couple of safety issues: 1. There was a stair gate of the incorrect type fitted to the top of the stairs. Stair gates fitted at the top of the stairs must not have a bottom bar as they can lead to severe falls down the staircase. We removed it and did not refit it. The owners MUST fit one of the correct type if they wish to have this safety feature in the apartment and indeed, if they are serious in trying to prevent children from having accidents on the stairs, they should fit one to the bottom of the stairwell too (one with a bottom bar is fine in this application). 2. The shower screen in the master bathroom is coming away from the wall on the topmost screw, thus is not fitting correctly and is causing water to leak heavily onto the floor. I worried about it failing completely so was cautious about anyone using the bathroom, particularly my young child. The screen is very heavy and would likely cause an amputation if if fell on a limb or foot, plus it's causing unnecessary water damage. (I am not the first reviewer to mention this). All in all, a lovely, mostly well-appointed apartment in a good location, not quite presented at it's absolute best."

"Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the welcome gift was a thoughtful touch. The location was also great, with the town centre within walking distance, making it easy to get around. The only issue was with the parking information. The listing stated that parking was available, but I later found out that it is only provided for guests staying 7 nights or more. This restriction was not mentioned in the listing, so it would be helpful if this could be clarified for future guests. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this place."

"What an amazing house to stay in at St Ives. The owners were lovely m. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms were the best I have ever stayed in. It was really close to the beach and shops and restaurants. The only issue was my TV didn’t work in my room. Still rated 10 out of 10."
