Jewel of Port Vila

So so good. They arranged pick ups even though our flight arrived well after midnight, someone met us and let us in. Great self contained accomodation that was clean and comfortable.

Nice place.

Very nice place, the owner is very helpfull and friendly. You have your own kitchen to cook though it is a bit runned down. Great value for money.

Misleading star rating

The location is not very accessible to public transport. Its 4 star rating is misleading. It is definitely not a 4-star accomodation - not anywhere close to being one.

Expedia cancelled my booking of this accomodation and told me 'Quest apartments has cancelled their contract with us and as a result will no longer be able to honour your booking' I searched Quest apartments, same dates and they were still listing the accomodation, at a much higher rate. I queried Expedia via email of this, with screenshots and email correspondence with an agent. I have been ignored, not refunded for the accomodation and not reimbursed for the holiday i've lost. I will be taking this further with the Ombudsman.

The staff were very helpful. The property is a bit dated as some of the furniture could be updated. The facilities were good and the property is in a quiet location.

Avoid this if you need to spend much time there.

Pros: fairly spacious, clean, excellent service, fairly convenient location, safe, across the road from the Holiday Inn with good restaurant, easy to get transport by minibuses. Cons: lousy slow internet which shuts off every half hour, forcing me to spend most of my working hours at the Holiday Inn with much better wifi. Furniture ratty and uncomfortable. Air conditioning inadequate for the heat and humidity. Only harsh overhead fluorescent lighting, needs some lamps.

Good price, hard to get a bus to town...

Stayed 4 nights @ Quest. Rooms were very clean and staff were friendly and easy to work with and very accommodating. I had to check out late due to a later flight and they securely stored my bags. Thanks! Rooms were clean and tidy. Beds were somewhat comfy, but mattresses felt a bit older. Staying here gave us plenty of room to stretch out and relax with our family of 4. Kids enjoyed the trampoline and the swimming pool. Parents enjoyed the laid-back feel to the place. It was very hard to catch a bus to town. On weekdays from about 7-5 there are busses that run every 5 minutes or so. On weekends, you are going to have to walk about 10 minutes up a hill to catch a bus to town as there are not any busses to be found coming down that road on the weekends and at nights. We found a taxi driver we liked who gave us good rates, so we kept calling him to pick us up. Overall, other than difficulty getting transportation, everything was great!!!

The service from Jacinta and Emelee was excellent, ever so helpful with advice. It was good to know that the security was present during the night and when we went on day trips. Comfortable beds and good daily service. It is not modern but it was exactly what we required for our visit.

Lovely place to stay! Enjoyed five nights in a standard apartment. The apartments are very clean and comfortable. Quest is located close to town but in a nice quiet road with a view of the lagoon. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again

A good place to stay

I had a nice apartment which was very clean and was very well equipped for self catering. A breakfast 'starter pack' was provided. Very nice, helpful staff. The down side is the location - a bit out of town and it was a very hot walk uphill to get to the main road to get a bus. However, the Holiday Inn (which is almost across the road) was closed and transport may be easier when it's open. The aircon in the bedroom barely worked and made little difference so it was incredibly hot in the apartment with just the floor fan. Be careful about hiring a car. I did - it was cheap but you get what you pay for. It needed oil, the mileometer (or should it be kilometre meter?!) had been disconnected and the speedometer didn't work. It clearly hadn't been checked before I got it.

The room and premises were excellent in terms of cleanliness and presentation, but is clearly over due For an upgrade - extremely dated for an appartment premises rated 4 Stars. - never saw the management while staying But All was prepared in advance for our stay.

Happy Home Away From Home!

We stayed at Quest apartments for a nice relaxing 12 days. Alan, Maggie and the staff team all made us so welcome, providing us with a clean comfortable room, a generous daily breakfast, recommending activities and were a great source of local information. With their help we were able to settle in quickly and have the basics to get around, Good quality meals were available with theme night each evening. The staff always had a wide smile ready to greet you each morning, and nothing is too much trouble. The buses (minibuses) around Port Vila are inexpensive and frequent. Vanuatu people are gentle natured people and are at no time intrusive, as can be the case in many places. We can recommend the Cascades falls. Walk right to the top one, swim over to the waterfall and get a powerful tingling massage from the water! Also snorkelling at Hideaway Island. It's the best we found. Whilst on the subject: If you head that way, take great care snorkelling off Breakas resort, in fact DO NOT go out to the reef at high tide. 2 of our party of 4 -both strong swimmers- were swept off the reef by dangerous offshore currents just as we got near the surf break and were VERY lucky to get back in. (If this happens swim parallel with the beach until you are out of the rip. Don't try to fight it as the water is stronger than you and you will quickly get fatigued) Beyond believe that beach isn't patriolled! We will definitely be heading back to Quest Apartments. Warm thanks to you all :)

Cheap appartment but poor facilities

staff and owner friendly but everything was old and in need of upgrading. Old 14 inch tv, 2 mornings without hot water, dvd not working, cupboard doors not closing, algie in pool etc etc. Dont stay here!!
