Located in one of the most iconic and rural places of Ponta Delgada, our rustic house is surrounded by greenlands and the astonishing Atlantic ocean to make your stay truly memorable!
The house is located in the middle of the countryside overlooking the ocean, so don't be surprised if cows come out to graze in the middle of the day.
At 2,5km distance you will be in the Natural Pool of Poços de S. Vicente Ferreira, an iconic spot to dive in the ocean.
You can also enjoy the garden with fruit and vegetable trees.

Rustic House is located on the north coast of the island, in the parish of São Vicente Ferreira, (by car) 10 minutes away from the João Paulo II Airport and 8 minutes away from the historical centre of Ponta Delgada and about 15 minutes away from the city of Ribeira Grande. 3 minutes away from the sea and Bathing area of Poços and 15 minutes away from several bathing areas of the island such as: Praia do Pópulo, São Roque and Santa Bárbara and 30 minutes away from the parish of Furnas and Sete Cidades and 10 minutes away from the Forest Park of Pinhal da Paz.

We didn't enjoy the stay too mich. It was not like on the fotos or description. It smells of mold and the light situation isn't ideal, either super cold light or too dark. One window didn't ooen at all with shutters, a noisy building site next door, a ciocroach in the room, the wrong wifi code in the welcome book, no kitchen towel. ..

Zona tranquila

La zona es muy tranquila, la casa es perfecta en cuanto a tamaño y ubicación. Nos dejaron una serie de productos locales muy buenos como detalle de bienvenida que nos encantaros. Como detalles a mejorar, una de las habitaciones tenía un olor algo fuerte, por lo que nos tocó ventilar todos los días. Casa rodeada de vegetación, es normal encontrarse algún bichito. Por lo demás todo perfecto, una estancia muy agradable y casa muy completa con todo tipo de utensilios y productos como café, infusiones, jabón lavadora, suavizante….

Angenehmer Aufenthalt mit einem Nachteil in einem originalen stilvollen Bauernhaus

Am Besten war die Terrasse, wo wir jeden Tag frühstückten und zu Abend aßen. Wir waren umgeben von einem verwilderten Garten, in dem viele Bananen und andere Früchte wuchsen, leider alle unreif. Das Nachbargrundstück ist noch ein Feld, aber man sieht schon Pläne, dass dort typische enge geschichstlose Ferienhäuser gebaut werden sollen. Es gibt viele für das Land typische Geräusche wie Hähne, Hunde und Kühe und Tiere unter dem Dach, was uns nicht störte. Der etwas modrige Geruch war schon eher lästig. Was uns am meisten störte, war der permanente Autoverkehr direkt vor dem Schlafzimmer. Selbst in der Nacht kam alle 5 Minuten ein lautes Auto vorbei. Dafür einen Punkt Abzug. Was wir auch nervig fanden, war die unpraktische Kommunikation mit dem Quartiergeber über das VRBO-Portal. Vor allem die Buchung hätte fast nicht geklappt, weil wir von fewo-direkt zu VRBO geleitet wurden, wo ein Preis in Dollar für EU-Ausländer festgesetzt wurde. Wir bekamen auch keine Hilfe durch den Quartiergeber. Wir hätten eine direkte email-Kommunikation bevorzugt. Dafür einen weiteren Punkt Abzug. Zusammenfassung: Wir würden dort wieder Urlaub machen, wenn der Preis besser ist als anderswo (war bei uns der Fall) und eher durch ein anderes Portal buchen.

Pleasant stay with one drawback in an original stylish farmhouse

The best part was the terrace where we had breakfast and dinner every day. We were surrounded by an overgrown garden where many bananas and other fruits were growing, unfortunately all unripe. The neighboring property is still a field, but you can already see plans to build typical narrow, story-less vacation homes there. There is lots of noise typical for country life, such as roosters, dogs and cows and animals under the roof, which didn't bother us. The somewhat musty smell was more annoying. What bothered us most was the constant car traffic directly in front of the bedroom. Even at night, some noisy vehicle passed by every 5 minutes. One star deduction for that. What we also found annoying was the impractical communication with the accommodation provider via the VRBO portal only. In particular, our booking almost didn't work because of transmission errors and no help from the accommodation provider. We would have preferred direct email communication. Another star deducted for this. Summary: We would make vacation again there if the price is compatable (which was the case for us), and we would rather book through a different portal.

My husband and I loved this property. We explored all over São Miguel and it seemed like no matter where we went, we were no further than an hour away. The house is spacious and beautiful and had everything we needed (including a washer and dryer). My absolute favorite part was the terrace and surrounding garden. There's an abundance of oranges, grapes, figs, and bananas which we were able to pick almost every day and gave us a tropical outdoor oasis to relax in. It's just on the outskirts of the village, so traffic isn't crazy, but it's close enough that we walked to the center several times to eat. This is such a beautiful space and an excellent location for anyone who wants to get out and explore anywhere on the island.

Schönes Haus!

Das Haus ist Sauber und stilvoll eingerichtet. Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen. Es liegt relativ Zentral auf der Insel, sodass man alles schnell erreichen kann. Checkin und Checkout waren problemlos, obwohl wir sehr spät angereist und sehr früh abgereist sind. Da die Schlafzimmer direkt an der Straße liegen welche nur wenig befahren ist und gegenüber auch einige Hunde aktiv sind, ist die Wohnung nicht für Leute geeignet welche sensibel auf Geräusche sind. Da das Haus aber über eine Klimaanlage verfügt, wäre es auch möglich bei geschlossenem Fenster zu schlafen. Haben wir aber nicht benötigt. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft!!!

Rustic with Rats

The location is great, but the beds are very hard/uncomfortable, and after complaining about rats in the ceiling at night (above the bedrooms) we needed to sleep in the living room for 3 days until they finally agreed to give our money back for the last few nights so we could find another place/hotel. So be aware that this is a farmhouse with rats and as long as they don't take them out from between the ceiling and the roof I would definitely not recommend staying here. When this is fixed, it can be a good stay but for us it was a nightmare.

Great house - unfortunately with a smell

The spacious house with the great garden was very well equipped and clean, the contact person responded to all our concerns immediately and in a friendly manner (e.g. repaired a broken kitchen light) - we would have felt very comfortable, but unfortunately the rooms apparently hadn't been aired for a long time, so when we moved in we were greeted by a strong musty smell. This could be eliminated from the bedroom after constant airing, but it was so strong in the wardrobes and on the upholstered furniture that we didn't want to put our laundry in there and didn't use the sofa corner either. We really enjoyed breakfast on the terrace in the paradise garden and were most of the time on tour, so we still enjoyed spending the time here.
