"This hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay in Montezuma. The breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely friendly. We even got an upgrade from a regular room to a balcony and they let us check in a few hours early because the room was ready. Hotel was clean and quiet. We saw a ton of wildlife right outside of our room… monkeys, iguanas, squirrels and a ton of unique birds. The location was perfect allowing you to walk to the beach and the main street where all of the stores and restaurants are. Would definitely stay here again. "

"Beautiful rooms and area. Lovely and quiet. One note to mention, the beach across the road is not the crystal blue waters as the sand is dark. It’s also a busy area for fishing so we didn’t swim. There’s some nice restaurants within walking distance and a great grocery store. "

"The room and facilities were clean, my only complaint would be the area itself, out of control of the hotel. There was someone sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the hotel when we arrived and there really isn’t much to offer in the area. We only stopped for the night to catch the ferry the next day and thought that there would be more to see. "

In order to have such a beautiful view in an unpopulated area, the location is remote. Make sure to do as much shopping for food, etc., as you can while on your way out. It takes too much time away from the trip if you don't, because traffic moves SLOWLY. 2. Hoyt is very responsive. Don't hesitate to reach out to him if there are any issues.3. Don't bother bringing too many clothes. You'll wear swimsuits most of the time.4. If you like ice cream, get your hands on some ChaRo brand ice cream (it's a Costa Rican brand) as soon as you can. We didn't discover it until late into the trip and we were sorry we didn't have more days to enjoy it. "
