No smoking.. This stunning detached Lakeland Farmhouse is the kind of idyllic holiday cottage which is sought by every one, but rarely found. Situated in the beautiful vale of Matterdale in almost an acre of grounds, with lovely views, large lawned garden and woodland providing a peaceful haven for bird life and wildlife. Inside the cottage is full of character, with original features including flagged floors, open fires and good quality furnishings. Matterdale lies between Keswick and Penrith, very close to Ullswater and with access from the M6 in 10 minutes.



    Cot hire is available for £10.00. Highchair hire is available for £5.00.

Great rural setting

Great property, a little chilly in the evenings (the joy of British summer weather). Spectacular location, great walks from the doorstep. We got to see red squirrel in the garden. Plenty of space. Sun room is great to curl up with a book

Lovely bright and spacious accommodation.

Lovely bright and spacious accommodation. Very relaxing. Location easy to get to minutes off the A66. No frills, towels not provided (not a problem but should be clearer in property details) no welcome pack, and only a bit of hand wash in the bathroom. They ask you not to wear outdoor shoes in the property, stone and slate floors were cold so I’d advise taking slippers. Also no recycling bins on site, we took some stuff to Morrisons in Penrith but would have been better to have on site. Overall a very good spot to meet up with family and get away from it all.
