Chose the cottage as we needed to be near Skelton and proved to be the perfect spot for us.
Chose the cottage as we needed to be near Skelton and proved to be the perfect spot for us. Excellent base to roam from and to explore the less touristy parts of Cumbria. The cottage itself was well equipped with the host on hand should they be needed but we didn’t experience any issues during our stay.

Great - lovely owner on hand to help and advise.
Great - lovely owner on hand to help and advise. Nothing amiss. Great for many enjoyable trips provided you have transport. The photo is not OF the cottage ... rather of lovely scenery not too far away, lit by the late September sunshine.

What an amazing little cottage for our break away.
What an amazing little cottage for our break away. Nicky was helpful and very welcoming. Inside was well equipped and cosy. Bed and bedding were extremely comfortable. Has a beautiful garden area. Well positioned for exploring the lake district. If you stay you must try the Dog and gun in skelton. Will definitely be back for another stay.

Excellent small cottage, would suit either a couple or a couple with a small child.
Excellent small cottage, would suit either a couple or a couple with a small child. Ellonby is in the middle of nowhere, with no village shop or anything like that, but close enough to all of the great Lakes sites and Penrith is only twenty minutes away if you need shops. Thoroughly enjoyed our week here!

A lovely barn conversion, big enough for 2.
A lovely barn conversion, big enough for 2. 1 big bedroom and a sofa bed in the open plan living room. Half an hour from Ullswater and an hour from Windermere. Nearest dog friendly pub is a mile away. Owners are friendly and have a beautiful garden at your disposal. A car is definitely required.
