The pod were warm and cosy. 2 mins walk to the beach was ideal for the dog. A fire under the stars each night was amazing. It's a lovely place to stay.

Very nice, clean, tidy and modern.

The pods are really nicely designed with everything you need. One pod has two small rooms with a double bed in each. The other has a living area with tvz couch, small kitchen and shower/toilet. Phil and Kim were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. We enjoyed having the brazier for a fire. It is really close to the beach which is a nice beach with lots of logs for the kids to play with

Perfect spot for a romantic getaway

If you’re looking for an amazing cute accommodation I’d highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect for a long weekend with the beach at your doorstep while still being close to urban centres for any food / drink top ups. The vibe is brilliant though I would say to book during summer to make the most of the beach etc. The hosts were simply incredible with a smooth check in/out procedure and the occasional conversation on the way to the beach or chilling on the patio. 10/10 would stay again

Matariki Recharge!

The perfect place for a weekend getaway. The pods are beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed - very cosy with the heaters and a super comfy bed. Definitely only a two minute walk to the beach to view some stunning sunsets. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise and for being such amazing hosts!

My friend and I had a wonderful wintery break in the pods. Compact, clean, comfortable, and everything you need. Friendly responsive hosts. Just a couple of minutes' walk from the beautiful expanse of Pekapeka beach. The pods are in a small enclave of houses but it was very quiet, only noise at night was the sea and the frogs! We liked the eco-friendly touches and the herb garden, beds were very comfy, shower was hot with decent pressure. Thoroughly recommend and would love to return!

On the beach

The two "pods" were well designed and well equipped. Vety comfortable to stay in. Great location and definitely only a 2 min walk to the beach. Awesome location for dogs and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming and great communicators.Would absolutely stay again.

Peke Peka Pods, pet and people perfection. Poppy the puppy really enjoyed her first beach experiences. Great selection of quality teas and yummy granola. Cosy pods, with a super comfortable bed and pillows.

Very nice place , great communication right throughout the stay. I had two medium sized dogs with me who were a bit stressed, the host was very accommodating and helpful. Great having the beautiful beach only a minutes walk away..

Peaceful Location

Great Location easy access to the beach. Great Breakfast. Enjoyed the different selections of teas. The outside lights were great and great option of having different brightness settings and timer settings. The only fault was not having block out blinds or drapes in the bedrooms - you had to get changed in bathroom. And most important to me was our dog enjoyed himself.Thanks for your hospitality. Lovely Location.

Unique way to stay

What a great little set-up they have created - the beautiful linens and bug net, easy beach access and modern decor touches were so wonderful, like the covered outdoor area with the lights set-up and the eco-friendly body and cleaning products. Hosts were friendly, responsive and accommodating. The cool little instruction notebook was a bonus delight. The small indoor space felt easily manageable for the 4 of us. A major downside was the positioning amongst many other houses surrounding it and cars/walkers going past right in front.

20th Anniversary Perfect Pod Chill Out

What a find. So perfect for a one night getaway, 30mins from our home for our wedding anniversary. We arrived after a visit to the beachside sauna at Waikanae Beach (just down the road) and were welcomed by subtle festoon lighting to guide us to our lodging. The best feature (of many) is the large outdoor covered deck connecting the two pod spaces, where we spent the greater part of the evening, unwinding with bubbles and takeaway wood fired pizza from the local bar/restaurant 5mins down the road. Cosy on the couch or bean bags but outside and undercover. Very romantic! Everything that you need to stay longer, great modern, eco/sustainable set up, with Nespresso machine, air fryer and smart TV etc, etc...You can literally walk in and chill out straight away. Threw ourselves in the ocean first thing in the morning which is 150m away and so good any time of the year. Great comms with hosts, super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend. Thanks for the feeling of a luxury getaway without the luxury price tag! Will definitely be back.

Pekapeka retreat

We arrived to a lovely clean property containing the pods. One with a bedroom and the other a bathroom, kitchen and living area. The outside was spaciously laid out with a covered deck, comfortable couch, beanbags, bbq and beautiful lights that gave the space a magical feel at night. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. And the bedding was luxurious with the bonus of a mosquito net. The kitchen was modern with everything you need to prepare food. The lovely airfryer was a great alternative to a microwave. The lounge seating was very comfy and the tv was a good size. The bathroom was modern with a comfortable shower, great water pressure and luxury towels. We walked barefoot to the beach from the pods. That beach always takes our breath away. Miles of sand with that amazing view of Kapiti Island. We found the environment beautiful and tranquil. Our hosts were very easy to communicate with and when we asked a question it was almost instantly answered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we think this was GREAT value for money. We would easily stay here again.
