We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karen’s cottage. The cottage is decorated well and the kitchen is fully outfitted. It’s an easy walk to the beach and mini golf and ice cream! The beds were comfy and we all slept well. We’d definitely come back and stay here again!

This is our second family vacation at Hummingbird, and we LOVED it. Karen is easy to communicate with and her cottage is just as described. It works perfectly for our multi-generational family getaway, and the location could not be better. Already looking forward to booking next year!

This was our first time renting thru VRBO so i didn't know what to expect. I was more than happy with this tastefully decorated property and want to return on our next visit to the Island. This cottage was exactly as described and was the perfect place to connect with the family. Very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the jetted soaker tub was heaven. The kitchen had all the appliances and dishes we needed. We enjoyed the resort pool and fitness equipment and there were many trails to walk the dog.

Excellent cottage - close to amenities and centrally located allowing us to travel easily north and south on the island. Cottage owners had a very organized and handy binder that answers all your questions about your stay. Comfortable space - indoor and out and close to beautiful Rathtrevor beach (less than 5 min drive).

Hummingbird Cottage is a lovely little space that has everything you may need during your stay. Pride of ownership and desire to offer a clean, family and pet friendly space is apparent. We were having a great stay at this lovely property until there was a disturbing incident. On Thursday evening a man drove up in a pick-up, parked across the front of the driveway blocking both cars in, and stormed over to the house where my son and I were chatting near the car. He was clearly angry and without any introduction shouted to my son "What's going on?" We were just chatting, so my son asked him what he meant and again this angry man shouted "What is going on here?" I stepped in and asked what the problem was and again he shouted "What is going on here, why don't you just answer?" Realizing he was looking at our electric vehicle which was plugged into the regular 110V outlet. I explained that we have our car charging. He then told us that he was the owner of the house and why didn't we answer when asked what we were doing. It became clear that he had never seen an electric vehicle charging, so I explained and offered to show him how it worked but he refused to see it. He said that he did not know about this that there would be an extra charge and that we should have asked permission. So I offered to remove it and charge it elsewhere, but this man recognizing that nothing 'bad' was happening reiterated that we should have asked before plugging in a car and then left. He did not introduce himself or apologize. My wife and daughter were very upset at this interaction.

We loved our recent stay at Karen's cottage! My husband and I, along with our two "kids" ( 21 and 23) and our little dog had a wonderful time. We had the master bedroom, our daughter took the second room and our son had the pull out sofa, it was easy peasy. The cottage had everything we needed, it was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and the perfect location. Karen was lovely to deal with, always prompt with a response to questions. Honestly, it was the perfect getaway for our family before the kids head back to University.So happy we chose it!!!

It’s the perfect place for a family. Amenities including pool & amusement park within walking distance; shopping & restaurants, a 5-10 min drive. And of course the beach & a kids water park nearby as well. The cottage itself is immaculate & well maintained. Overall, the perfect family getaway!
