About this property
Live Like A Parisian
Charming apartment under the rooftops of Paris, calm, full of light, with an elevator for convenience. In the heart of the vibrant Marais, the apartment is surrounded by rich history, renowned boutiques, famous cosmetics and perfume shops, restaurants, and cafés. It’s also the epicenter of Fashion Week, perfect for experiencing the city’s creative pulse.
The apartment combines elegance and character, with designer furniture and unique antique pieces for a warm, sophisticated atmosphere.
You enter a stylish living room with authentic designer furniture like Le Corbusier and old pieces of art and decoration picked from auctions or antique shops, mostly from the 1940s and 1950s. You will also find plenty of architecture books, as my partner is an architect, which you can enjoy reading during a relaxing day off after wandering around the city.
The apartment is very comfortable for both relaxing and working, with high-speed internet. The bedroom has a beautiful view of Saint Paul Church and the Parisian sky. The bed is very comfortable, with two types of pillows, including a firm one for those who prefer it. A large wardrobe is also available.
The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, perfect for a long, relaxing bath after a day of exploring the city. The kitchen, though compact, is fully equipped with a coffee machine, an oven, and a dishwasher.
A washing machine and dryer are available in my small laundry area on the same floor.
The apartment is located on the 6th floor, with an elevator that takes you to the 5th floor.
The building, beautifully crafted in stone, dates back to the 19th century.
I’ve provided a list of my favorite restaurants and pâtisseries in the apartment to help you explore the best culinary spots in Paris.
Bed linen, towels, tea, and coffee are all included for your stay.

Our second stay in this apartment and we love it! Great location, beautifully furnished, comfortable bed and Mathieu goes above and beyond to help make your stay wonderful.
Mathieu was a terrific host, he communicated regularly and answered questions immediately. The place was perfect, comfortable and very Paris with great decor! Le Marais is a wonderful place to stay; very close to the Seine, Notre Dame, the Louvre and many other sites. Only a 3 minute walk to the Metro, it was so easy to travel everywhere. There are many great restaurants right in Le Marais that we did not have to leave the area for dinner. I would stay there again!
We had a wonderful 4 day stay in this apartment. The location is about the best you can get in Paris half a block from Place des Vogues. The apartment is charming and the kitchen adequate for breakfast a perhaps a light supper - don't be planning real cooking in this spot. And why would you with the range of restaurants close at hand. Check in details were a breeze. The access is tight and steep. We are in

Very friendly owner who checked on us regularly. Great location and quiet apartment
We loved staying in Mathieu's apartment. It was perfect for the two of us - - cozy, charming, and a great location. The apartment was clean and exactly as pictured. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Mathieu provided excellent restaurant recommendations. We would happily stay there again.
Loved everything about our stay here with my teenage daughter. Plenty of room for 2. Lovely aspect. Great and safe location. Friendly host. Would definitely stay again and would not hesitate to recommend to family & friends.
We had a wonderful stay. Mathieu is an attentive host and has decorated the apartment beautifully. The location in the Marais is perfect, the bed really comfortable and check in easy. Will be back!
We loved this experience!Thank you Mathieu for your help including suggesting a driver from the airport! Our accommodation was perfect for us.The apartment is situated in an area that is walkable to many cafes, museums and Notre Dame. My personal favourite was going 600 steps to the Boulangerie each morning for croissants.Comfortable bed ,quiet nights and grateful for laundry facilities as we had been away for 2 weeks. The view out the window of the roof tops was amazing.
Your search for lodging in Paris should stop now. Rent this apartment! Mathieu has thought of everything and is an excellent communicator! The apartment is beautifully decorated and incredibly convenient to the metro and many must see attractions without feeling at all touristy. Very comfortable bed, too!
Quintessential French experience! Loved the location, and Matthieu could not have been more charming or helpful! The apartment was fabulously decorated and so clean. The bed was so comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!
This accommodation fit our needs perfectly. The location allowed us to discover many off the beaten trail destinations as well as well known spots. Our host was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and arranging transportation to the airport. Very clean and comfortable place.
My husband and I stayed in this well appointed and perfectly situated apartment for five wonderful days in Paris. The location just steps from the Place Des Voges was the perfect place to start our morning in one of the many cafes. Two metro lines were short walks away and everything we wanted to see was easy to get to. Our host was so helpful and offered great suggestions too. We will look forward to returning.
We spent five wonderful nights at this charming apartment to celebrate an anniversary and it was the perfect central location. Our host, Mathieu, provided us with excellent recommendations for restaurants nearby and the self check-in worked seamlessly with the detailed instructions he provided to us. We highly recommend this apartment and host.
This is the place to stay in Paris! This wonderful apartment is comfortable, beautifully decorated and has conveniences that a typical hotel stay does not such as the kitchen and full laundry. The big windows open you up to the sights and sounds of Paris life. It is in a vibrant neighborhood full of boutiques, vintage shops, cafes, bakeries, markets, metro stations - everything you need. We walked everywhere from here! The apartment was also well stocked with necessities and a large collection of books in French and English to browse through. Le Marais is a wonderful area and this apartment is in the heart of it - you definitely feel like you are living like a Parisian in this home. The host is very welcoming and offers excellent information on restaurants and even put us in contact with a driver for getting to the airport without a worry. If you want to experience Paris life, this is the place to stay.
The property looked incredible on VRBO but the reality of it, the location and more importantly Mathew exceeded our expectations. He is as charming as Paris itself and made our anniversary trip even more special! The location can't be beat and you should stop looking for another property and book this one ASAP!
This smart, tastefully decorated and ideally located apartment is beyond comparison. Perfect situation for a couple with a small child or two adults - this was a mother and daughter trip for us and the space couldn’t have been better. The host, Matthieu is warm, helpful and accommodating. His restaurant recommendations spot on and assistance in securing airport transportation greatly appreciated. Thank you for everything and we are looking forward to staying with you again!! Glenda & Jessie, Toronto, Canada
We enjoyed our 5-day stay in this tastefully decorated and very quiet one-bedroom apartment in a great location in the Marais, within a short walking distance to a least half a dozen museums and many small parks (e.g.Place de Vosges) and gardens (e.g. Mark Ashton Garden). I found several interesting independent shops around there, including two pop up stores selling women’s fashion made by young designers based in Paris, all selling at reasonable prices. Plenty of good restaurants nearby recommended by the host as well as by our friends and the Michelin Guide. All the furniture and items in the flat were carefully picked and put together, making for a calm visit. It’s a great place to stay for a couple who love Paris, museums, gardens, eating out and shopping.
This elegant rooftop apartment is a delight, ideally located, light filled, and very comfortably furnished. We had a lovely stay, and enjoyed gazing across the rooftops and down on to the street below. We had all the amenities we required for a short break, and enjoyed perusing the many books and magazines provided. There is even a brand new lift, French style, to take us to the fifth floor, so only one flight of stairs. Mathieu is a charming and considerate host and made us very welcome. Highly recommended.
After our five-night stay at this idyllic Parisian apartment, I cannot imagine returning to Paris and staying anywhere else!! The location in the Marais neighbourhood is absolutely wonderful with many great shops and restaurants all within a stone’s throw of this rooftop retreat. With a short walk to St. Paul metro station, all of Paris is accessible! On top of it all, Mathieu is simply fantastic!!! Despite being on holiday himself during our stay, Mathieu was so welcoming, kind, attentive and helpful! His restaurant recommendations were all amazing and he constantly did everything he could to ensure our stay was a pleasant one! Merci Mathieu for making our Paris Olympic adventure even more fantastic than we could have ever expected!!!
As described. You buy your morning baguette go up make coffee and set out for the day. Averaged 15,000 steps a day for 14 days. Saw everything: start with the small museums (especially recommend Arts et Metiers and Madame Curies laboratory) Skip the Louvre. Buy a postcard..Superb location for walking. I often mapped a route of a mile or so, both walking and driving and driving sometimes took longer than walking. Really! No metro strike so all was perfect. Went to concerts and special timed events. FLV was fascinating with Hockney and his huge exhibit. Carnavalet around the corner. Musee d'Orsay now huge and a full day must see. Etc etc. Lived here as a student in 1962 at the Sorbonne and all the crazy 'manifestations'.
I stayed here for a week with my teenage daughter for a mother-daughter trip, and the apartment was lovely. It was on the smallish side, but we expected that. We had everything we needed here. We did not cook - other than making coffee in the morning - so I cannot speak to how it would have been to cook in the kitchen, as it was very small. We were very glad that the elevator had been installed and was working, as it would have been difficult to drag our suitcases up 6 very narrow flights of stairs, so the elevator was appreciated! The neighborhood was perfect - charming, beautiful, with cafes and interesting shops all round. We could not have been happier with the location and the apartment suited our needs very well.
