Alligator Point is a beautiful area just south of Tallahassee. The point has about 200 homes and many of the residents are full-time. There is a tiki hut at the end of the point at the Marina where you can hang with the locals, catch a football game, and enjoy a pina colada. There are two public beaches. The first public beach is Alligator Point Beach, which has three access points. You are also just a few miles from Bald Point State Park.
The first beach is 3 blocks west of the home. The second one is one-half mile down Alligator Drive and the third is 1-mile down Alligator Drive. All three beach access areas have walking paths over the dunes. The first one is best to see the sunset and the third one is adjacent to the public boat ramp and marina. The beach runs east about 5 miles to the "tail" of the point. The second public beach is Bald Point Beach. It is inside a state park preserve and is 3 miles down Alligator Drive to the left. It has picnic sites, fishing pier, and boardwalks, typical of a state park. There is also a private beach that is accessible from our front lot, however immediately adjacent to our property it is better for fishing, walking, running, or shelling rather than swimming. The private beach to the left of where the rock buffer begins runs about 8 miles of sandy beach, around the coast and through the national preserve. It is a great place for fishing, swimming, running, or shelling. The home is situated between the ocean (adjacent to our front lot) and the Alligator Bay (the canal behind us). If you have a small boat (<18 foot) with less than a two-foot draft you can maneuver the canal into the bay for water sports, fishing, boating, etc. You can tie off at our dock for evening storage.
The home is equipped to sleep 6 persons in 3 bedrooms - each bedroom has a queen size bed. The third bedroom is a loft. There is a pull-out couch bed in the family room that is a double bed, which can hold two additional persons. Home has fish-cleaning sink and screened-porch.
