First of all, the staff were all great! It's all downhill from there. Luggage carts were in horrible shape. One of the elevators was out of order for our whole stay. The hallways were dirty and all the linens and towels were thrown outside of the rooms onto the hallway floors. There was a lot of buckling on the floor vinyl and where there was carpet there were stains and open seams in places. I saw a room service tray sit on the floor for at least a day (it was still there when we checked out.) The room itself wasn't too bad other than peeling wallpaper, the worst shower curtain that did nothing to keep water in the shower and no shampoo in the dispenser. The balcony was so narrow, there wasn't room for a chair to sit outside. The heater was so loud, we had to turn it off to sleep. Our first room had lukewarm water in the shower and we had to change rooms. One of the maintenance men told me they had a problem with hot water getting to that side of the hotel. There was no bell assistance. The fitness center had no towels, no trash can and no sanitizer to clean the machines before or after use. We enjoyed sitting poolside with excellent piped in music, but there is a lot of disrepair. Friction tape around the spa was peeling so bad that I was worried some of the patrons may trip on it. The pipe barriers were rusted so bad that there were huge holes and severe staining on the concrete beneath them. Exterior doors were all open and didn't require a key/card to enter.

Everything was just fine! Nothing to write home about. My room was directly above the dumpster, which they emptied as I was checking in. The entire hall outside of the rooms smelled of the dumpster. The ice machine on my floor was broken; the elevator was out of service, and the kicker was when I tried to go to the hot tub in the evening, and I visibly watched an employee dumping Clorox bleach into the hot tub using no measurements. The staff was nice and the room was clean, but it just seemed as though they were just letting the place fall apart.

The room smelled weird, and the TV doesn’t have basic apps like Netflix or YouTube. We asked twice to have the phone replaced because it didn’t work, and they never fixed it. Out of the 4 days we stayed, housekeeping only came once after we requested it twice at the front desk and they arrived about 4 hours later. There are no entertainment areas besides the pool, and the common outdoor spaces are very small. On top of that, they charge $25 per day for parking. There are no nearby shops, cafés, or restaurants within walking distance. I wouldn’t recommend this place for vacations. It feels more like a hotel meant for a one-night stay, not for an actual trip.

Great place to stay! Super clean and we loved the history of the place. My only complaint would be the bed was very uncomfortable and very used and the 4 small square pillows they give to sleep on is not very comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, close to everything; - 5 mins to food and shopping - 10 mins to empire polo club Most beautiful sunrise if your on the east or south sides, one of the best pools of any I've stayed at. Locks didnt work inside the room ( bathroom, privacy doors ) key cards were outdated and worked intermittently. Beds Beds needed to be replaced, mattresses were very uncomfortable, beds were wobbly, the pull-out bed..... was bent in the middle so 2 people slid there. Mattress was so thin you felt the metal bars of the frames on your back. Staff was friendly but never asked how our stay was or if we needed anything during our stay Overall a really nice hotel, nice staff, close to everything, very clean,.... Just BYOB bring your own bed

Initially upon check-in, I was charged well over $350 a night. I had to argue with them reminding I was booked under Expedia. I tried to show my receipt of what costs should be but they refused to look at it. After about 10 minutes they finally figured it out. The cost for the room definitely was NOT worth it. This is a very old hotel. Rooms need an upgrade starting with carpet replacement as it left a musty odor in the room. The bed mattress needs replacing - much too soft and saggy. There was mold around the bathtub. Water pressure was low. In the mornings while showering, water would be hot then cold then hot then cold throughout. We were on the 3rd floor and our view was of broken boxes, broken refrigerator, the cooling/heating system on top of the roof of connecting building. Our room also pickup the cooling/heating system noise all night. There was virtually no WiFi. The hot tub was only bath temp warm, which I don’t believe is passable by the Health Department. Poor security as none of the entry doors were locked allowing anyone to get in. There was no reason that we had to pay for parking as there was no security guard, or gate to the parking lot. I would not recommend this hotel and I definitely wouldn’t be staying there again.

The lobby was nice, until the evening when the had live entertainment. Two boisterous and strident singers sang so loud you couldn't even talk to the people at the front desk! This went on for hours. The pool is nice but the property otherwise feels a bit cheesy. Screen door felt like it was going to fall off, no toiletries in the room save some weird shampoo dispenser and a bar of soap. Now I know why the rooms were so reasonably priced

The heated pool was wonderful and amazingly clean after the recent rainstorms. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would love to stay here again.
