It's an old house that lacks maintenance and needs a room upgrade, only the bathroom looks new. The location is great and it could be an excellent choice for business or pleasure traveling alike.
Very good location. Food at the restaurant really good. Even it needs some renovation in the rooms, they are spacious, and comfortable. It us a very giod option to stay in Oaxaca.
Lovely old place friendly staff decent restaurant, nice garden courtyard, blackout curtains, air conditioner/heatpump style in room, very convenient location but noisy traffic bring earplugs
We didn’t like our particular room much, but it was quiet, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant quite acceptable. The location of the hotel is excellent.
We love the location - Los llanos park. This hotel is great. Staff excellent. Cafe great. Vibrant - people in lobby. Safe. Walking distance to cafes & fun. Have already recommended to a friend.

Excellent location across from park. Rooms open onto a pretty garden. 15 minute walk to the zocalo. Friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel was clean and well maintained with a beautifully designed garden. It is very peaceful in a busy area of the city. Very happy to have stayed there.
The place is very clean. People are very kind and helpful. The restaurant is great, very tasty.

Great location, lovely entrance and breakfast area. The back garden was exquisite! The rooms were a bit small and the beds were hard. The A/C was fine as was the hot water. I’d stay there again.
Good location within walking distance to Centro. Nice park across the street to purchase food from numerous vendors at night. We had a great breakfast at the hotel to start off our day before touring around. First mexican hotel/resort that we've stayed at that had plenty of hot water when taking a shower. The wifi didn't work in our room, but was available in the lobby and restaurant areas. Overall, we had a nice comfortable stay at this hotel and was reasonably priced. The washroom was small, but served our purpose. We stayed there for four nights and would stay there again.
The beds were awful. There’s not so much as a coffee maker in the room. The restaurant was pretty good, but quite expensive. Internet was iffy. The location was great, except for the night there was what sounded like cannon and artillery fire (“cuetes”) from midnight to 6 in the morning.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Things that I liked:
1) Centrally-located. Easy walking distance to most attractions in Oaxaca.
2) Easy to book tours to local attractions.
3) Friendly and accommodating staff. Very helpful!
4) Excellent value for the money.
5) Very good attached restaurant.
Things that I didn't like:
1) Bed mattress was very firm/ hard and made good rest very difficult. After a long day of hiking at Monte Alban or somewhere else, you want to be able to recharge, and those mattresses made it nearly impossible.
2) I had ants in my bathroom most of my stay. Not that big of a deal, but annoying.
3) I had a lower floor courtyard room. The bathroom window had a "frosting" on it to try and provide privacy. Unfortunately it did not ensure complete privacy, and was partially see-through. Again, not sure this is that big a deal but a lot of people want complete privacy in those moments.
The room was clean and cheap, and staff was friendly, but otherwise I didn’t like it. Bathroom fixtures were old and worn. I had to stick my arm into the toilet tank a few times to adjust the flapper. The towels were clean but frayed. The bed was hard, as others have said, though I didn’t have any problem sleeping on it. The AC worked well, and the ceiling fan was great at night.
Nice garden, but no shade and nowhere to sit. Parque del Llano, a nice spot where local kids play, is across the street.
It’s not far, but the last few blocks of the walk from Santo Domingo to the hotel are dark and isolated, which I don’t like as a solo female. The first night, the power was out for the last two blocks of the walk and at the hotel. Power came back on as I entered the lobby. Luckily I had a little flashlight with me. The power went out again a day later, though only momentarily. That was twice in the two days I stayed there (after having spent eight nights in another hotel where the power never went out).
In a room overlooking the garden, I was far from the busy street out front and the park, and it was quiet enough. I did hear loud banging/exploding sounds around 10am on Sunday morning.
I stayed somewhere nicer for eight nights before this that cost about 50% more per night. I decided to extend my trip because I loved Oaxaca that much, and my original hotel was full. For me it was worth the extra money. If your budget is lower, try Oaxaca Real Hotel before this one.
