Our stay was wonderful despite the weather. Fabulous spot for the beach and dog walking. Cannot recall a friendlier staff not just to us but to our canine companion who was very nervous of other dogs but was given unstinting patience and attention. Parking excellent. Food was delicious if over-generous in portions!
What a fantastic place to stay right next to the sea, with ample parking, lovely room, big bed, warm and very comfortable. Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful
Room was immaculate and the bed was really comfortable. The view over the sea was superb. We also ate dinner and breakfast and the food / service was fantastic.
Great pub with rooms. Rooms are quirky and individual and very comfortable. I was in a cozy double, which looked out over the road and the picnic area of the ‘posh’ chip shop; this was not an issue apart from no net curtain which meant I either had to close the blind and be in dark or creep around - needs to be rectified please
Having recently got a second dog we wanted to trial a dog friendly hotel and see how well they behaved and how well we coped. We were pleasantly surprised at how well behaved both dogs were. We were very happy with the hotel staff who were all friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located next to the beach access. We had a king size room and it was huge with a vast bathroom too. Plenty of room for us all to enjoy. We ate both Sunday dinner and breakfast during our stay and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Great location, nice staff. Far too many dogs for me though. It says ‘dog friendly’ so fair enough, but this was on another level and in every dining and accommodation area. It was very busy and almost every customer had a dog. Dogs with their faces resting on tables next to their owner’s plate… You have to be a dog person to enjoy this I think.
Beautiful individual room. Not standard soleless room. Beautiful seaview from room.
Restaurant was extremely helpful by making me a vegetarian, gluten free salad with assorted cheeses and new potatoes. This was not on the standard menu, but very tasty.
A very good experience and would love to return.
We arrived at the Ship on quite a grey day, but the welcome from the staff soon cheered us up. We chose the ship because it was dog friendly and isn't it just every other person had a dog with them and you can take them anywhere. Our room was at the back with wonderful views over the sea. A ramp leads down to the beach. The room was a nice double with ensuite shower etc. Rooms not massive but this is av ery old building so it was as we expected. Breakfast is served between 0900 and 1000 in the restaurant area. Staff were great fussing the dogs a good well stocked bar wherte you can also eat if so inclined though we always used the dinningroom. Fish and chip shop in the carpark if you want to use that. All in all a gtreat experience and we will be looking to book again.
Only complaint was WiFi Guest is unsecured so my devices wouldn’t work and TV signal isn’t the greatest. Rooms could do with AC. Apart from those little niggles I would definitely stay again, in fact will be staying again. Sea views magnificent. Food very good. Room and bathroom quirky well decorated and comfortable King size bed.
