"The cottage was a delightful place for my personal retreat. I knew I was going to enjoy my stay when I met the welcoming committee. Two pygmy goats, Twix and Cadbury, ran over to take a look at me. Next there was a friendly Great Pyrenees who was less than a year old, Lady Carys. Chris, one of the proprietors, wasn't far behind. He let me know if I needed anything to just let him know.I wanted for nothing. The cottage lacked no attention to detail, right down to the decorative switch plates, faucets, and sinks. As a welcome gift, there was a small jar of preserves made from berries grown on site, and farm-fresh eggs provided by the resident flock of chickens. There was no need for an alarm clock. Smokey, the rooster, crowed each morning. He even acted as his own backup alarm. He crowed a second time a bit later. The cottage was well-stocked with books and games. Good coffee and special teas were available to brew. The kitchen area had a coffee maker, dishes, cookware, and utensils. Everything was spotless. It was inviting and comfortable.A plus of staying at the cottage was the Danish Bakery just down the road. They have pizza night every Thursday. I bought a frozen one to bring home. It was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Their sandwiches were huge, loaded, and top-notch. The kolaches and cinnamon rolls were outstanding with my morning coffee. When it was time to leave, I knew right away that I would like to make an annual October trip to the cottage."
