  • Haus am See (House on the Lake) is a beautiful couple's get-away (1 couple, 2 couples, or a small family) with the best lake views on the street from a first-floor deck and a 2nd-floor master bedroom balcony. Bald eagles launch nearby out over the lake and the water is wildly spectacular.

    The home is located in a small lakeside residential community - 4 miles from downtown North East. The home features a large master bedroom (king-sized bed and sitting area), a second small bedroom with 2 twin beds that can also be placed together as a full, a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances and cookware, and upstairs and downstairs full bathrooms. Private neighborhood lake access is only a few hundred yards away.

    Visit the many local wineries in minutes, and there is plenty else to do nearby, including antiquing, biking, fishing, golf, hiking, shopping, and enjoying small-town amenities in North East. Have breakfast at Butch’s Diner; grab coffee and snacks at the Bean; walk around Gibson Park and the Main Street Shops; and have a delicious dinner at the Skunk & Goat.

    Most areas of Erie are a short 30-minute drive. Catch a show at the Warner theater or a Sea Wolves AAA ball game at UPMC Park. Beautiful Presque Isle State Park and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center are reached in 40 minutes. Visit Findley Lake, the Chautauqua Institution, and Lake Chautauqua.

    You will be about an hour and a half from Buffalo, and under 2 hours to Niagara Falls, Canada; 2 hours 15 minutes from Pittsburgh; and 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.

Perfect house for our vacation.The view of the lake from the deck and master bedroom was perfection! The house has everything you need. The decor was very nice and in keeping with the Lake Erie theme. The neighborhood was very quiet when we were there in early June. Great location, not too far to Erie and in the middle of the wine region. We also took a ride to Jamestown NY. The only thing we wished we had was a hot tub on the deck!! But we did appreciate the lounge chairs!

We had another wonderful stay at this beautiful lake house! The views of the ever changing lake from many of the rooms and the gorgeous sunsets were highlights, but the house itself is clean, comfortable, and lovely. Ethan is a very responsive host and provides everything you need for your stay. We will be back!

Kitchen had everything, even a quality stainless steel electric tea kettle Vice plastic kettle. Overall the quality of the interior is better than most places I have experienced. View of lake is far better than I expected. Loved seeing the sky at night with moon reflecting off lake as I laid in bed. Just need to careful with interior steps.

Everything w/ this home was perfect! Exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated throughout, EZ entry and security setup, new appliances, more than enough kitchen utensils/pots/dishes/etc., two full bathrooms, high end towels and sheets, comfortable living room & dining room seating, large main bedroom w/ seating area & top to bottom windows for awesome water views, excellent communication w/ host, large lower deck on the water and additional deck off the main bedroom on the second level, quiet community location and only minutes from town for dining and shopping. We can appreciate all the time and care that was put into making this home one of the nicest experiences we've had thru VRBO. Thank you and we hope to visit again!

This property is fantastic! The view of the lake is spectacular. We saw amazing sunsets, eagles, an incredible nighttime sky complete with a shooting star! Inside the home was immaculate. There was nothing we could have needed that was not already provided. The primary bedroom is gorgeous, with a view of the lake, soaring ceilings, 2 sitting areas, a private deck, and an adjustable bed that is extremely comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen have everything you need for your stay. Check in was super easy and Ethan was very attentive to make sure we had a wonderful stay. If you are looking to stay at a home on the lake this is the place!

We had a wonderful stay at Ethan’s place. Absolutely gorgeous views and the house is so comfortable you don’t want to leave. So nice sitting on the deck watching the eagles fly by. We will definitely be back for another stay hopefully soon.A

Stunning view in a great location

We loved our stay here! The view is absolutely stunning and the host provided anything and everything we would need for a comfortable stay. This is a great location, close to Presque Isle and the bay, yet not right in the middle of things so it was nice and quiet, and so close to the wine trail!
