This modern, eco-conscious haven was built in 2023, featuring double glazing, in-floor heating, and a cozy wood fireplace. Relax on the spacious deck while spotting native wildlife—wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, and even echidnas—or marvel at the vibrant birdlife.
Located just over an hour from Melbourne, it's the perfect escape for tranquility seekers or adventurous explorers. Nearby, discover charming towns like Trentham, Blackwood, and Daylesford.
THE SPACE
With two queen-sized bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen/dining area, the Forest House is designed for comfort and relaxation. The floor plan provides a clear layout of the space for your convenience.
While the building is complete and fully functioning, as a new build, the landscaping is a work in progress and our fees reflect our acknowledgment that we have more to do. We have great plans for elevating our beautiful surrounds.
KITCHEN
The well appointed kitchen is fitted with an induction cooktop and electric oven, microwave, fridge and comes with tea and coffee facilities - basics of salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, cow's milk and eggs will be provided for guests. The Forest House offers rain tap water, fresh and clean, ensuring a sustainable and refreshing option for guests.
LOUNGE
The space features two- three-seater sofas, a lounge chair, a television with internet access and Apple TV for streaming, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding forest. During winter, a fireplace -with wood provided-is available to use. Books are provided for guests to enjoy during their stay.
BEDROOMS
Each room fitted with Queen-sized bed, Towels, rugs, bedside lamps, artworks by Melbourne artists.
BATHROOMS
One bathroom features a fitted bathtub, a rain shower, and deep green tiles that echo the natural surroundings. The second is a modern wet room equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
Parking - off street, private parking with room for two cars right next to the Forest House.
THE WILDLIFE
Guests are invited to immerse themselves in breathtaking forest views. Wake to the calls of kookaburras and glimpse fairy wrens and rosella parrots in the shrubs. Native visitors like swamp wallabies, grey kangaroos, and wombats may also make an appearance. Enjoy luxurious touches like a large soaking bathtub and a fireplace for cozy winter nights.
GUEST ACCESS
Your stay at the Forest House is entirely private, though we live on the property in the main house (50 metres away) if you need assistance. Rest assured, your privacy is our priority, and the retreat is yours to enjoy exclusively.
Early check in and late check out will always be considered based on availability.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Just a 4 minute drive from Trentham, you’ll find a well stocked Country Grocer and Ruby Goose for groceries. 2 bakeries, 2 pubs, a cellar door winery/cafe, 3 cafe options and Annie Smither’s fine dining Du Fermier (make sure you book in advance). Between our place and Trentham stock up on local honey available at the farm gate on Old Blackwood Road.
