We checked in late, and the staff were super friendly and helpful! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the dinners. The pub has such a cozy atmosphere, and the chef and waitress were amazing. Big thanks to the manager too for keeping a table for us without a booking — really appreciated! Overall, a lovely place with great service. We’re so glad we chose to stay here!

Comfortable and quiet, great food!

I'd booked in error date wise and despite having to change literally on the day i was supposed to be checking in, i still got a very nice room comfirmed very quickly, 2 nights of quiet comfort in the out building rooms.

Good location in Newbury.

In an excellent location on the Market Place in Newbury. Ideally placed for visiting the canal and the town centre. The room was in a converted block at the back of the hotel and was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is secure parking at the back of the hotel.

It was great that it had free parking, the room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. Ideal positioned for the shops and pubs, it looked a bit tired in places and some damp and water staining on some of the walls, but not in our room.

I was very nervous because it was my first overseas trip in a long time, but the staff were very kind and treated me and my son well. I stayed here to go to Highclere Castle, and they arranged a taxi for us, which was very helpful. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Newbury. Thank you very much.

Highly recommended

Room is massive. We walked in thinking it was going to be a small room but it’s really big, very spacious. The bed is unbelievably comfy. Recommend the stay as it’s a one minute walk from town centre. Service is very good and people there are lovely.
