マンハッタンへの移動も便利

空港からのシャトルバスはかなり待ちました。ホテルスタッフの対応はとてもよかったです。駅隣接でマンハッタンへの移動もとても便利でした。

Best location

ニューアークペンステーションから直通で行け、空港へも無料シャトルバスで10分ほど、とロケーションがすばらしい。部屋も清潔で広く快適に過ごせました。

Very close from the station

フロントの対応、部屋の設備・広さ・清潔さは特に問題ありません。1日部屋の掃除やベッドメイクを忘れ去られている日もありましたが、そこはご愛嬌。駅からも近く、直結通路もあって便利です。しかし、1点だけいただけないのが騒音。毎日窓の外から駅前の喧騒やパトカーのサイレンの音が聞こえます。さらには、隣の部屋と接続するためのドアがあるためなのか、はたまた壁が薄いのか、隣の音が丸聞こえ。会話やテレビの音はもちろん聞こえるし、隣の部屋のいびきの音でこちらが飛び起きる始末です。スマホで録画してみましたが、それにもバッチリ記録されていて見せた友人が驚くほど。正直また泊まりたいと思うホテルではありませんが、この駅だと他に選択肢が無いですね。 I was satisfied with the front desk, room facilities, size and cleanliness. On one day, they forgot to clean the room and make the bed, but that's OK. It is conveniently located near the station and has a direct pathway. However, there is one thing that I could not accept: the noise. I could hear the hustle and bustle in front of the station and the sirens of police cars from outside my window everyday. Furthermore, whether it is because there is a door to connect to the room next door or because the walls are thin, I could hear all the sounds of my neighbors. Needless to say about the conversations and the TV, the sound of snoring in the next room made me jump out of my bed. I recorded it on my phone, and my friend was surprised to see that it was recorded perfectly. To be honest, this is not a hotel I would stay at again, but at this station, there is no other choice.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Guest services was friendly and responded quickly. The hotel is very convenient to the Newark Penn Station and great for those traveling by train. However, the passageway for pedestrians connecting the two is closed on the weekend with no sign explaining. The traffic around the hotel is extremely heavy, and there was insufficient area to temporarily park and unload suitcases. There were quite a few people begging/asking for handouts around the site, but there seemed to be several security officers.

It’s always great to stay DoubleTree by Hilton Newark Penn Station. Great staff and customer service! I only stay here whenever I’m in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The shuttle to the airport is a lifesaver!

We were given a room right next to the elevator on the 10th floor. It was awful with noise from people getting on and off the elevator and the loud clunking sound of the elevator. We asked for a room change and were told that our Expedia rate restricts us to certain rooms! I guess that means only crappy rooms. We spent 3 jet-lagged nights getting no sleep!!

Unfortunately the things that make this a lower rating are the proximity to the rail station, homeless, and general extreme urban exposure. Coupled with lack of evening amenities - limited restaurants and you may not want to walk to them.

Yes, it’s a little noisy but close both of the curtains, and if it still bothers you, you can put in some earplugs :-) The sink in my room had a large crack in it, but wasn’t leaking. The bathtub is pretty tight for showering, but it was fine. The junction bar and Grill food is quite good. And I have to make sure to absolutely say that the staff both at the junction bar and Grill and Hotel are fantastic! Super friendly and very accommodating. We felt very welcome. Kudos to the staff and management. It’s my first time to Newark. They have to say generally speaking everyone is very friendly. Went to the Prudential centre for an event and everyone there was very friendly and accommodating as well. Overall a very positive experience I would definitely return. Thanks so much.

I will admit - I was hesitant to book based on some of the negative reviews. However, I am sure glad I took the chance and stayed here. Hotel staff - AMAZING. I was there on a 24hr business trip and I've never been to NYC before. The gals at the front counter helped talk me through all the dining options, which transportation to use, once I get into the city where to go and not to go etc. Location - Super close to the airport (20 minutes with a little traffic). The reason I stayed here is because it's literally right across from Penn Station Newark so I was able to take the train right into town without having to pay crazy uber or cab fees. The downside - since you're right next to the train station there's a lot of foot traffic. Room - Very Clean and comfortable. Unlike some of the other reviews there was plenty of soap, shampoo and conditioner! I will be staying here again when I come back for business.

Positive : Location is very convenient, free transport to airport, lots of dining options nearby. Room is clean and staff friendly. Negative : the connecting door/wall is paper thin. I can hear people next room talking in normal tone, when they raise their voice it is as if they are in the same room as us.

This is still a pretty good alternative to staying in Manhattan, but this hotel is definitely showing its age and hasn't been that well maintained. The staff is pretty marginal, and worst of all, the Doubletree cookies were overdone!
