Ethan Allen Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The Ethan Allen Hotel is where you want to stay in Danbury. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable. The pool was still chilly in late July but was very nice. The Patio area adjacent to the pool has a Butane Fire pit that is perfect for sitting around and conversing with family. The Restaurant and bar are quite cozy and welcoming. I would like to give a warm thank-you to Marie at the front desk, Ruben at the restaurant, and Jeff manning the bar; all for their superior service and attentiveness. On a side note; when the main chef had an emergency and the dinner menu was cut very short due to his absence, the rest of the staff filled in and came up with a wonderful alternative menu and saved the day! When I return to Danbury, I WILL stay at the Ethan Allen Hotel again! I highly recommend it!"

"Really great house - especially for a large group. Plenty of amenities, home was very clean and Peter, owner, was extremely responsive and helpful. Views of lake, hot tub, and so much more were amazing. Definitely recommend."

"Beautiful home in the best location on Candlewood Lake - very private and secure. The house is extremely comfortable, with two huge decks overlooking the lake, one covered, which was great for rain and too much sun and the other offering views all day. The floating dock is wonderful for swimming, kayaking etc as well as watching sunsets, fireworks and the stars at night— just a beautiful property! The hosts are responsive and the process in and out was very easy.We also rented a pontoon boat from Gerard’s marina which was such fun- highly recommended!"

"Everything was wonderful, just a few frustrations but nothing huge. Was planning on using tandem kayaks as advertised because we had small children but they were lost by the previous renters. Also planned on using the pull out couch bed but that was broken and unable to be used. Didn't use the grill because the grate was very rusty and starter button was broken. The steep hill and crossing a main route was a challenge and was hard to tell from the listing post but they were very responsive and kind when this was brought to attention. Despite what was listed above, we had a wonderful time."

"Really beautiful home! The wood burning oven was incredible for a pizza night outdoors, and the little grass deck below the main level was a perfect spot for games. Absolutely no negatives, would come back in a heart beat!"
