Our stay was wonderful, the check-in and out process was very straightforward. We enjoyed our days sitting outside on the patio and visited the river! Such a great location and close enough to town we got to see the nightly performance by the missionairies. It is a beautiful place!
This is the second time I’ve stayed at this property. Both times so peaceful and the design inside and outside is so unique it’s like being transported back in time.
Loved the view, space, style, amenities. Would definitely stay there again!!! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us. So many wonderful memories created.
Location and setting were awesome. First impression as you pull up could have been better with the weeds and exterior landscape. Once inside and spending time there, it was fantastic. Plenty of room and the deck and views were amazing. Overall it was fantastic and really close to Historic Nauvoo and great for a medium size group of two families.
We had a family reunion and all stayed here together! It was the perfect size for multiple families! The location can be a little precarious but it's also very cool. Very close to Historic Nauvoo which made it so nice!
The house is amazing and the views are stunning! We especially love the ancient Indian burial grounds right above the house. The fall colors were amazing and we love Nauvoo. Thank you so much for letting us stay. We will be back.
The property is just what you would expect nestled on a ridge overlooking the Mississippi River. There were a few dead bugs inside, but (as someone who lives in the MidSouth) that is to be expected in the summer. The owner obviously took steps to prevent live bugs and spiders inside. Lots of room to spread out. The views are incredible! We enjoyed our stay overall.

House on the road off of the River
Interesting theme home that needs a deep clean. No access to river. Kids enjoyed themselves.husband was allergic to the bath towels and broke out in hives.
We very much enjoyed our time at the 'castle'. It was a fun and unique place to stay. Since our visit was so brief (3 nights), we didn't get to use a lot of the amenities, such as the hot tub, musical instruments, fireplaces, etc.; but we did have pleasant evenings on the deck watching the sunsets and we enjoyed the fire pit one evening. The views were beautiful. The home is very spacious, so we had plenty of room to spread out and having three bathrooms was great! I was also impressed with the supplies provided. We didn't have any children with us, but I think it would be a great place for families with kids. The lower level with the bunk room had a nice selection of games, children's DVDs, etc. The only issue we had was getting a wi-fi signal. We used our phones for hot spots since the signal didn't seem strong enough for our laptops. I would stay here again.
I don't have enough good things to say about this property. It was so close to historic Nauvoo, but located right above the Mississippi with beautiful views. The castle style home was a huge hit for everyone. The house had plenty of beds, with a fun bunk room for the kids. The living area and bathrooms were clean and fully stocked. There were a lot of things for my kids to do at the house, including foosball, giant connect 4, balls, toys, a rocking horse and more. There were 2 washers and dryers, so getting clean clothes was so easy! There was even a piano there, to the joy of my son who plays the piano very well. I had a mixup on my days, and the owner was willing to work with me and even refund some of my money, which they didn't have to do. I hope we get to come back here one day!
The first things my children said when we arrived is that it looks like a small castle. Overall, the home was well stocked with towels, and everything was in working order. This is our first VRBO, so I cannot comment on cleanliness standards fully, but from what we could tell, the place was clean. We enjoyed the fire places, and the kids enjoyed playing 'sardines', another form of hide and seek.
The road leading in gave a little anxiety for there were no guide rails and I feared driving off a cliff or into the Mississippi River! But we didn't, obviously.
Saw many eagles, bald and golden as well as wonderful sunsets.
Close proximity to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints historic sites in Nauvoo.
It was fabulous' I loved having 2 washers and dryers to get through pageant clothes quickly. The house was beautiful, well stocked, and was great for our family.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was well stock and had everything we needed creating the comfort of home. Love the peaceful environment overlooking the old man Mississippi River. Such beautiful sunsets. We will be back
We absolutely loved staying at this one-of-a-kind property and discovering its little quirks. The kids hunted geodes down at the river and found a lot! Owner was very helpful and responsive. Would absolutely stay again or recommend to a friend.
Awesome views close to Nauvoo and right on the Mississippi
Awesome concept home with space and the place was as advertised. This close to the water, bugs were definitely a thing and we got our steps in moving between floors. The upstairs was divided into sections with a decorative partition, but the space worked for us.
We loved our stay in this small castle. Just walking in, the house felt like it went on forever. Three floors of grand, but comfy space. I especially appreciated all of the touches for kids, like bunk beds and games. Our entire family felt welcome.
I can't leave out the amazing view of the Mississippi. It was nice to take a break and just look out from the tower over the water.
Highly recommended!

Ask Questions
Owner was great answering questions.
We will not stay again unless the cleanliness is improved greatly
My teenagers LOVED staying in a castle! There's just something about a turret, right?!
Favorite things: 1) the castle, obviously. 2) The views of the Mississippi River were gorgeous, especially at sunset. 3) There was a mess up with our welcome email so we didn't have the door code, but communicating with the owner was super fast and easy and we were in right away. 4) Plenty of TVs and viewing options.
Less great things (not necessarily things the owner can fix): 1) The oven burns the bottom of everything before cooking it all the way through and there are NO food staples in the kitchen - so bring everything with you. 2) There are 3 kinds of beds: a U of bunk beds, a queen bed in a private room upstairs (meaning, it has a door), and a king bed in the upstairs living room set apart with a screen. The queen and the king share the upstairs bathroom. Luckily, my kids all slept down in the bunk beds so my husband and I had the upstairs private to ourselves (no door, but our kids are old enough to not come upstairs), but if someone was sleeping in the queen, there's no privacy. 3) There are showers in the two downstairs bathrooms, but the upstairs bath only has a clawfoot tub and a shower wand, which is great for baths, less so for showering (no curtain). We just showered downstairs.
