Clean, close to the beach, amenities were great. Soap missing from dispensers and took awhile to fill, but that’s really it and not a big deal. Bring your own soap if you’re worried. They were slow to work with on getting the pool heater turned on, so we just gave up. That said, we didn’t give the “72 hour notice” - if you want it heated, I recommend giving that advanced notice.

Kees Vacations Let Us and Owners Down

The house itself and the location is lovely. There’s one row of houses betw this house and the beach, though there are views of the ocean directly. We struggled with the property for a reasons below which I put largely on the property management company. First, though wireless was advertised the service was practically unusable. Wireless was important to our group so this made the stay challenging. The other big issue is though the kitchen has two refrigerators and two dishwashers, it has one incomplete set of dishes and incomplete set of pots, pans, and cooking utensils. This made cooking at the house difficult but not impossible. I recommend the owner/agent get two sets of dishes and a full set of pots/pans, cooking utensils. All the bathrooms come with soap dispensers mounted on the wall like you find in public restrooms. Not a great look to be honest. One of the upstairs had no hand soap and despite notifying Kees they did not send anyone to refill. We also notified Kees about the Internet and no help was sent. We noticed there were no physical wireless access points visible so this is likely just lack of understanding how WiFi works in a house with multiple levels. They need someone to advise them they need access points on each level. The showers also had wall-mounted shampoo/conditioner mix and soap. These were difficult to use as they barely came out. The bunk room mattresses are thin and uncomfortable. Outdoor shower is not enclosed so be aware.

Nice house and location, Kees not fun to deal with

We were very excited to get to this house and spend a week relaxing on beach. House was as promised and very cool. Elevator was great for older parents and bringing up supplies. If it were not for some issues the experience would have been perfect. Washer/Dryer did not work and dealing with Kees was cold and corporate. They knew there was an issue with those appliances and new ones came mid week. Three TV’s were not working and it took 4 days to get someone to fix and also to bring propane for grill that was empty when we got there. Backyard was overgrown and felt depressing sitting in very unkempt and in unmaintained lot by the pool. No one came to mow or clean up and looked like they had not for a while. If you can live with some issues and deal with an answering service with long wait times and poor responses, go for it.

Great stay with family and friends

House was in the perfect location, hop skip and a jump to the beach. 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers… had everything we needed. The last night we wanted to cook burgers on the grill…. Had ZERO propane in it, and the washer was broke, wouldn’t spin clothing out and is moldy. Other than those 2 issues, it was the perfect stay!! Definitely would recommend.

The elevator, and ice maker are added bonuses. The top floor has very little water pressure. WiFi upstairs is unattainable. The kitchen is not stocked with basics like salt pepper etc. we had one frying pan. Most of the dishes are chipped and cracked. The toaster doesn’t work. The blender is missing the top piece so everything you blend comes out. Wooden spoons are broken. We got there and shampoo/conditioner/body wash/hand soap were all mostly empty. We contacted the property but housekeeping never came. All the patio furniture is out front and was not moved back to the original areas. The outside pool area is very small and not spacious. The yard is full of dirt, ants, hay and is on a hill. All lounge chairs fall off the side or are broken. To get to the beach is very thick hot sand so be careful. Be mindful how you park. The outside shower barely works. The balconies were nice coverage from the sun. The hot tub is nice. The main tv on the top level is badly pixelated. The double fridges are helpful. The rooms are comfortable and have fans except the bunk room. Shopping is close and the red drum cafe was very nice place to eat. Make reservations wherever you go. I hope you find this review helpful.

Wonderful Family Time

The house is gorgeous. Beautiful views, a short walk over a dune to the beach, comfortable bedrooms, clean bathrooms, three refrigerators(!), and a big dining room table that was perfect for board games and puzzles after dinner. There's a great ice cream place about a half mile walk away. It has a pool, which I didn't realize when I booked the house. When I saw it, my first thought was about my two grandchildren, ages 1 and 3. But the door to the back yard has a handle about six feet up, and a very heavy pneumatic hinge so that even if the 3 y/o could get up that high, she couldn't pull the door open. Plus a couple locks. So there's no way a young child could sneak out of the house alone to go swimming. The yard is fenced in, which our dogs appreciated. I have only a couple negatives. One is that the air conditioning unit for the bottom half of the house didn't work. The upstairs was very comfortable. We were there in early June, so it was more like being uncomfortable than unbearably hot. But at night, while we were going to sleep on the middle level, we were definitely sweaty and using any covers. We called maintenance and left a message, but no one responded. The other is that the wifi wasn't very good, and my son had several Zoom meetings he had to attend. The wifi worked well on the bottom floor (where there was no air conditioning) but was almost non-existent on the top floor. A signal booster would have helped, I think.

MISLEADING DESCRIPTION

When reading the description of the house it said it has an in house elevator, I thought it meant that you could access the elevator from the outside of the home making it easier to get luggage in and out of the house and for guests with mobility issues to get in and out of the house. Come to find out that the elevator was only available inside the home so guests still had to use the steps. On the second day of our trip we used the hot tub and when getting out of the hot tub the outside coating of the steps were broken and my friend fell getting out of the hot tub. I reported it to Kees realty and all they said was would put in a work order to have them fixed. We were not notified that they were fixed so we could not use the hot tub the remainder of our stay and they sent us a form to fill out about my friend getting hurt but we had no way to print the form. The guests next door had kids with them and the kids were throwing water balloons at the house we were in and we had to talk to the parents about the situation because it was getting out of hand and happening late at night. they also were flickering the lights on and off in their house every time we went to the dining room in our house.

Great location and week

We had a great stay this past week. House was great for our family - 11 total. Lots of room and love that each room had its own bath. Private walk to the beach was very handy as there is a tall dune between you and the beach. One issue with the property manager - contract stated there was concierge cabana service included - NOT. They have promised me $300 refund which I have yet to receive. A couple of maintenance issues that were looked at (broken glass in drain of tub (resolved) and kitchen sink broke and would only deliver a small stream of hot water (looked at and needed replacing but not during the week we were there). Other than these, great property and location.

Great property and management

Great vacation property. Excellent beach access without needing to cross the street. Lots of nice places to eat within walking distance. Pool is small but nice when heated, ensuite bathrooms in every room. Management was easy to contact and fixed minor issues when needed but overall this house is well kept up for a vacation rental. Will plan to stay in a kees home again in Outer Banks.

Maintenance

When we arrived there was a beer fan floating in the pool and a garbage can full of beer cans. One of the top level bedroom doors was almost falling off the hinges. Bathrooms were very dirty and toilets definitely were not cleaned. Stuffing was falling out of the pillows and had a safety pin holding it together. No can opener in the kitchen. Sand on the furniture. The grill only worked two burners at most and went down to 1. There was a large hole by the gate in the back yard that a dog could easily escape. They said they would have someone fill it the next day and never showed.

Family Respite

Fantastic home to bring a family of 9 including 3 dogs together for a few days of much needed downtime. Having multiple refrigerators and dishwashers was a surprise at first but very much needed with that many people. We plan to visit again!

Great location

Other than a few minor issues, this house was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, and just steps away from the beach. With 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, the 10 people that stayed in the house all had their own private space. Highly recommended.

Business meeting

We had a great 3-day stay at this property. Tons of room for everyone to be comfortable. Great kitchen and the downstairs area was great for entertaining. We used the 3rd floor TV as a presentation screen for our meeting and it worked out perfect. Close to beach too for a quick after work swim.

Great location and amenities

We stayed at this property for a week and really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and size/layout of the house. All bedrooms were en suite and plenty of space upstairs in the living area. Check in and check out were very smooth and communication with the property manager was easy. Would return to another Kees property in the future.

Great location and layout -- could easily be a 5 star propery. Needs attentioin to details.

Excellent layout for 3 familes with kids ages 4-12. A very easy walk to the beach and ice cream for all ages. Tent and chair set up was a huge perk! Cons: 1. Previous visitor did not clean up dog poop in backyard and rental agency did not take care of this. 2. NO window treatment in kitchen made very sunny breakfast and clear view of neighbors in the evenings when both were using kitchen. A few items would have made this property 5 stars: a few coffee filters on arrival, pot holders for oven, more than 2 kitchen towels, greater communication that there are NO additional towels or blankets of any kind, not even a throw blanket or extra bedding for warmth. No provided trash bags. Additionally, the rental agency (kees) dropped off more cups and forks without alerting us. While the items were needed, notice of this delivery would have been appreciated. It was unnerving to come back to a note that someone had been in the house while we were out.

Short walk to Beach

2 large fridges and 2 dishwasher a plus for a large group! More towels are needed and for a week, there should be a supply of toilet paper. Also, loved the ice maker.

Very Nice!

This is a beautiful property, and the location is second to none. It is about 50 feet to the beach path, with beautiful views of the ocean from the living space. The check in was seamless with the code working on time. The property was VERY clean, with some very minor areas for improvement. (Floors throughout the property needed to be wet-mopped. Socks were filthy after walking around, there was tape and ends of crepe paper decorations stuck to window frames-which we removed. It feels like nit-picking to even mention these things, but without sharing there is no way to improve) Furniture was clean and comfortable, linens were provided as expected and the home was odor-free. I would not hesitate to rent this property again. We enjoyed the amenities, location and overall level of care that was evident in keeping this property maintained. Really great experience!
