"The good: The villas are beautiful. Very comfortable. The bad: 1) Like many resorts, Natalie's is a taxi ride away from any services. Unlike many resorts in this situation, it doesn't offer food options outside of breakfast and dinner. We arrived at 1pm and asked to have lunch at the restaurant. We were told that wasn't possible. 2) We were looking forward to a nice relaxing swim in the pool after lunch, but when we returned the pool was packed with loud kids. Fair enough we thought, they've paid to stay here too. But it turns out the resort sells day passes for the pool. We paid 3mill per night to stay, pool passes are 30k per child. It ruined the chill vibe we were expecting, and makes using the pool in those hours pretty uninviting. The same thing happened both afternoons we were there. 3) Despite accomdation being mainly two person villas, most dishes on the restaurant menu are for a minimum of four people. Strange. 4) No card payment option is a bit of a red flag for a place this expensive. If the place was less expensive, I would have way less of an issue with all of these. But if you're deciding to be a 3mill per night upscale resort, you've got to commit to it. Overall a very disappointing stay for the price."

"Our stay was wonderful. The room was lovely and such a comfy bed. Mosquito nets were supplied. View out the windows was amazing and such a peaceful space to spend the hottest parts of the day. What really made our stay was the lady who runs the place!! She was so amazing and makes delicious kumquat tea and great breakfast. During our stay I had to go to the hospital. She went above and beyond in making sure I was comfortable before it reached the point where I had to go and even came with us to the hospital to help translate and make sure I was okay. She made our whole experience of a hospital in a new country so much less scary, which made a huge difference. Over all a wonderful experience in a beautiful place, I’d highly recommend it to anyone. 💓"

"We enjoyed a three night stay at Mai Chau lodge. As the lodge was quiet being mid-week, we were given an upgrade which was a nice surprise. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and lake. The local food offered in the restaurant was lovely. As options in the town were a bit limited we ate there every night. Location was excellent for visits to the outlying villages- all in an easy walk or cycle. Best of all were Ninh and her staff. Always friendly and eager to help and offer advice. "

"The views from the rooms and pool exceed all expectations. The property staff were friendly and helpful, arranging tours and taxis for us as required. Decent buffet breakfast and open for drinks and meals in the evening. Lovely environment. "
