Blue Haven Resort - All-Inclusive

"Blue Haven was a pleasant experience overall. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. Walls were a little thin if your neighbors were being noisy but staff was responsive to shut down anything excessive after hours. Beach was comfortable and pool was not overly crowded. Drinks were not very strong but this was to be expected at an all inclusive. Food was hit or miss. Seafood and pizzas were great but breakfast and some of the lunch options left much to be desired. But again, expected of an all inclusive and the variety was there. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Didn't utilize many of the amenities other than the spa and gym. A lot of the excursions and water rentals seemed a bit pricey. Massages/pedicures were nice and gym was free and well stocked. Best part was the free shuttle to the sister resort that ran throughout the day. Wish we would've utilized earlier. However, many guests at the sister resort did not speak highly of where they were staying and praised Blue Haven instead."

"2 out of the 3 days we had no air-conditioning at night in our room... The first night it went out about 4 am and was sweltering in the room. I called the front desk and they somehow got it to work remotely. It took a while but it cooled down and worked. The second day/night we had no issues. On our final night we got in from dinner around 10pm and it was out yet again... It was banging with loud noises. We quickly called downstairs and someone came up and basically gutted the AC unit on our final night... It was warm, but we went to sleep and tried to tough it out; it never came back on... At 4 am that night it woke us both up again with loud noises and we couldn't stand the heat any longer. I called again downstairs and it was fixed remotely again... I suspect whoever stays in this room the following day will have similar issues. Not good.... This was our second stay here. It is a gorgeous place and has great staff. We love this hotel and were really disappointed this trip.... All we've had this year away from my work and the kids was this three day weekend for our 16th anniversary... It was terribly disappointing to spend 2 out of three nights like this. I'm sure we will go back to the resort again. It's a lovely place. The beach, water and pools are fabulous. The food and restaurants are excellent. It was really disappointing this time, and no compensation was offered on the room. We were offered a food credit for $250...."
