We only spent one night but enjoyed this lovely cabin. Everything we needed was provided. This is a great place to stay especially if you have a large family like ours. We intend to stay here again next time we visit family in Blanding or Monticello.
Even though our visit was short, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Canyon View Cabin. It was so much nicer than staying at a motel in town. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts at the big table, an evening fire in the fire pit, the deer passing through the property and the overall peace and quiet of the setting.
This was our third year staying in this cabin. It’s well furnished, clean, and comfy. We love the setting and the convenience to Both Monticello and a landing.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Homemade, Haunted House
The location of the property is perfect for touring all of the national parks and cliff dwellings in the area (it's an average of a 45 min. drive to 6+ national parks and monuments), we loved it for that reason.
The home is well stocked and labeled, so you can easily find things, but we felt we could never quite relax because it seemed like the home was haunted. I know that sounds strange, but it was as if we were always being watched. My son, my wife and myself heard disembodied voices/whispers, while my eldest daughter kept seeing shadows, it was unsettling. We are NOT into paranormal stuff. Some people might like that, we didn't.
That aside, the home is very creaky, with interesting door latches and all wood/log construction that squeaks and creeks with every step. It appears homemade.
Great fire pit and we felt, overall, it was a good value for the money we paid to rent it.
The cabin was very quite. We took a day trip to Needles overlook. The younger three 60 year olds hiked around a lake 20 mins away, 4.2 miles around. We had fun playing games at night on the big table in the dining room. Directions to the cabin were great. Thanks!
At first not what I expected but now it's what it is.We did enjoy the location and saw a lot of deers. Its an all wood cabin and rustic but has modern convenience.would definitely come back
Really nice place, plenty of room to spread out, with a good sized kitchen stocked with all the pots/pans/utensils you might need, plus coffee. Cool construction, the kids really liked the loft. Directions were excellent and easy to follow, check-in/check-out easy and straightforward. Great location on the slope of the Abajo mountains, we explored Canyonlands and some of the pueblo ruins near Blanding - the cabin has a really useful binder with descriptions of some of these sites and good directions. Thanks, hope to return sometime!

Great, I totally recommend it.
We stayed here with two families, 11 people total. The cabin is clean and quite roomy, and very well stocked. The water situation is the only drawback. The water pressure is a bit low and the shower temperature a bit low too.
A perfect cozy, rustic cabin...with every comfort.
We had the pleasure of being "snowed in" in this rustic, cozy cabin during a heavy winter storm. It was a magical experience for my kids. The cabin is beautifully crafted from rough timbers and exudes rustic charm throughout. Well-insulated, well-stocked, warm, and comfortable, the perfect getaway for staying in or exploring the Canyonlands and Moab. We'll definitely be back next year.
Beautiful property, we had a blast. Tons to do if you are willing to drive. Moab is beautiful 60's and sunny while in Monticello it was 30-40's and snowing so be careful if you go during the spring. You're in the mountains so pack for all temps. We have 7 kids, 1 in a wheelchair and we were not aware that we needed to walk across a 2x10 board over a mucky/ice pond in order to get to the door of the cabin. Fire pit & grill were buried in snow, we did not have any issues with this as it gave our kids something to do and they dug it all out. But if you are like us, we planned for meals on the grill so we wanted to dig it out to make the meals we planned. Property owner came and helped dig out and start up the grill and put another board down to help accommodate us carrying our handicap son it. Front door was not accessible, side door, by the fire pit was the only one accessible for us during our visit. We had a pretty big group with no water issues at all, we all took showers and did laundry as normal. Friendly staff, owner took care of any issues we had during our stay. Overall it was a great experience despite it not being exactly as pictured online.
The purpose was to have a cabin to use as a "base" from which we could go explore the beautiful scenery then return to at the end of the day. As the short review states, it served it's purpose. However, the add was a bit misleading in the following areas. First, I don't see any way this thing could sleep twelve comfortably. There were three bedrooms, so that would be six people max. The other six would have to sleep in the same upstairs area, sleeping on the futons and the floor. Second, the listing stated it was air conditioned. There was one small unit on wheels in the eating area which exhausted through a window. No air upstairs or in the bedroom downstairs. Thank goodness the nights were semi-cool. Those sleeping upstairs had to have fans in the window blowing are on them. There was also a note that stated not to use the air conditioner and the microwave at the same time. Hmm. Lastly, the cabin had a covered porch around the entire structure. The floorboards were warped, loose, and most of the stain on the wood had peeled off. On one side of the cabin, the railing was actually disconnected from the post. The inside of the cabin was nicely decorated, I will give them that. Now, 100 feet or so away from this cabin was a really nice cabin for a smaller group. Obviously much newer, with really nice furniture. I'm thinking the family cabin we were in was probably one of the first that was built. They really need to quit renting this out and spend some money on getting it back into shape.
A great base camp for going to the Needles district of Canyonlands and Natural Bridges National Monument. Other parks are in the vicinity as well, though we didn’t visit them. Very comfortable beds and couches and good reading lights. As advertised, the water pressure is low and there is no dishwasher. The stars are beautiful as there are few lights nearby. Enjoyed our stay very much!
Went there for 5 days and the property was everything we could of asked for. Very well equipped with everything we needed for our trip. Would definitely revisit again!
Our stay at the cabin was a great experience. You could tell that the host took great care to clean the cabin for our arrival and they even left complimentary water and a note for our family welcoming us to their property. The cabin itself offered some peace and quiet and in the evening the location offered a spectacular star gazing experience.
