From The Villages at Zermatt it is a short walk to the indoor/outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, tennis courts, restaurants, mini golf and much more.
Wasatch Mountain State Park is just down the road and around the corner. It is a nearly 23,000-acre preserve, at an elevation of 5,900 feet, which was set aside by the State of Utah in 1961.
The park provides year-round recreation, including camping, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, golf, off-highway vehicle and horseback riding. Park facilities include 122 camping/picnicking areas, modern restrooms, hot showers and utility hookups, 2 cabins, and five overnight group areas. The primitive Little Deer Creek campground offers 16 small tent/trail sites and 1 group sites limited to a maximum of 25 people. Little Deer Creek is popular for off-road enthusiasts. All camping is closed during winter months.
Wasatch Mountain State Park was proud host of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games at Soldier Hollow. The venue remains open to the public year-round with a variety of activities and events. Soldier Hollow offers cross-country skiing, tubing, summer and winter biathlon, in-line skating facilities, and more.
The park offers two historic areas, Historic Tate Barn and Huber Grove. Tate Barn stands as a sentry at the southern end of the park. It is an important architectural landmark and a symbol for the Heber Valley. Visitors may also enjoy the Huber Grove, which features the Huber Farmhouse and Creamery.
There is plenty of parking available, including a long private garage, driveway parking, reserved covered outdoor parking (assigned stall) as well as street parking. ALL parking is free and there is plenty available. It's a great area to walk around as well. There are on-site walking paths in the Zermatt Resort and the town of Midway has fantastic walking / jogging / biking paths throughout the community, including nearby the vacation property.
The host is available as needed to answer any questions Guests may have, but will not be on site. Guests check themselves in and out using the custom keypad code provided at the time of booking. The host has several local contacts that check on the property, inspect and clean between bookings and that assist with ensuring that all house rules are being followed and Guest occupancy limits are not being exceeded.
Additional rules
- This property is strictly 100% smoke free and pet free, as some Guests and Owners have allergies to pets and smoke odor. Please help us keep it that way. Any violation of this rule will result in an immediate $1,000 cleaning fee charge as well as removal from the property so that it can be professionally cleaned, ozonated and deodorized.
- All guests (adults and children) must be included in the booking information and no additional Guests can be added to the reservation without advance approval from the Host. Additional Guest fees do apply for groups larger than 10 people. Enter the total number of adults and children when booking and the system will automatically display any extra guest fees if you have more than 10 Guests in your party. Additional Guests are $35/night per Guest due to additional costs associated with cleaning, laundry/linen service and utilities. Max number of Guests that the property can comfortably sleep is about 14. The 3rd floor bunk room has two full-on-full bunks.
- Guests must request in advance of arrival if they have any special requests, or questions, including to use a pack and play or high chair, or if additional bedding is needed for a larger group. Guests may also choose to rent baby amenity items from a 3rd party vendor and to put them in contact with the host so that the vendor can drop off the rented items.
- Guests are responsible to follow all House Rules set forth by the Zermatt Resort and in use at the pool area, spa, gym, tennis courts, etc. Guests may not bring in other people that are not part of the reservation to use Resort amenities. That is a violation of Zermatt Resort house rules. Only registered Guests on the reservation may have access to Zermatt Resort amenities.
- Guests are responsible for the Zermatt Resort key card and the garage door opener fob. Failure to return these items will result in additional fees to replace them. Both the key card and the garage clicker fob are on lanyards so they are easy to transport and return prior to checkout.
(The $50 administration fee is for accidental damage waiver which covers up to $1500 of accidental damage if the guest informs us upfront.)
