「I really wanted to like Econo Inn Lackland AFB as a low cost option for those visiting Lackland to see their son or daughter graduate Basic Military Training. Partly because of the location close to the base (within a 10 minute drive to the Luke East Gate), it seemed like a good no frills option for housing and their staff was so kind in trying to accommodate me. 「Do NOT book here! It was dirty! Trash in the bathroom floor. Horrible smell. Less than half a roll of toilet paper. Two bath towels for a room that sleeps 4. The person at the check in window didn’t want to give us anything else. I should have known to run away when it said all over the check in that no refunds after 15 of checking in! 」

「The AC had a good range of cool/warm and strength of breeze. The period I stayed there was unusually cool for May, so I turned up the room temp and had a great sleep. The pillows came with 3 different softness and bulks, which was nice. The shower was hot enough and the stream was strong enough although I've had it better elsewhere. The only disappointment for me was the really basic breakfast: pre-packaged cupcakes, oranges, and tea/coffee.」

The clerk said there wasnt anything that could be done about the noise. The toilet backed up and I called the front desk for a plunger to be sent to the room as I just got out of the shower and was told I had to come down to get it it. 「The lady who checked me in was sweet. However it was difficult to hear her though the glass. She also wasn’t able to photocopy my ID so I had to wait over an hour to get my ID back. Once we got in our room there was no ice bucket, only one washcloth and it was sweltering. This was ok for us since it was way last minute, and it cooled rather quickly. The toilet also had issues with flushing, and on looking into the tank the flapper valve needs replacing. Other than that it wasn’t bad. 」

「If you need a cheap place to go and don’t mind an overall musty smell, dingy towels, hard mattress, the room door not closing well, or unknown substances on walls or bathroom door; then this is the place for you! I won’t stay here again.」

「Dirty. Room was gross. Times in bathroom were loose and coming up, room had stains throughout, there was a leak when you enter the hallway inside that the water was being caught by a trash bin, some motor parts were tucked in a corner of the inside, smelled like weed in the hallways, the carpeted stairs and hallways were filthy, a dead roach was in the corner for the 2 days i was there. Will never stay there again. 」
