This place was magical. The Spa was an amazing place, my wife and I had the best massages and treatments of our lives. The pools were wonderful. Cosimo in the restaurant was amazing. He made our dinners so much fun. The food and drinks were the best. The area and the views were so unique of a place. The staff gave us great places to eat and shop during the day. Matera is a must see destination.

Service was nice if à little mechanical - could be clearer and more helpful for parking and offering more insights on restaurants. Spa welcome was a little cold and mechanical. Shuttle was very late from parking pick up despite calling them 30 minutes in advance. Overall I loved this hotel but they can do better in service side.

Amazing hotel built into the surrounding caves. Very conveniently located in the Sassi with many bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Spa experience was well worth it. Only slight reservation was the weak air conditioning which in the height of summer would be more of an issue.

Struttura favolosa a partire dal contesto in cui è inserita. Camera-grotta con accesso esterno, molto spaziosa e dotata di tutti i comfort. Colazione molto varia ed abbondante. Percorso spa con spazi adeguati. Personale molto gentile.

Struttura bellissima, accoglienza meravigliosa, ma sono i particolari che fanno la differenza! Ho prenotato qui per festeggiare il compleanno di mio marito e avevo espressamente chiesto di mettere una candelina su un cornetto, o un muffin a colazione, niente di che,e non è stato fatto. Durante il percorso in SPA non abbiamo potuto usufruire dell'angolo relax perché degli ospiti cafoni avevano preso "possesso" delle postazioni lasciando su gli asciugamani mentre facevano la sauna;il bidone dell'immondizia vicino alla tisaneria era talmente pieno che è stato difficile buttare i nostri bicchieri...Peccato, perché il posto è incantevole ma una maggiore attenzione è d'obbligo, soprattutto perché deve giustificare il prezzo!

The hotel is lovely and the staff wonderful. We were "upgraded" to a terrace room, which unfortunately was not a cave room as we had hoped to stay in. The hotel is named Cave Luxury Hotel after all.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, where authenticity resonates in every corner. The premises were immaculate, reflecting a high standard of cleanliness. The spa was an extraordinary retreat, offering a unique escape, making our stay even more delightful. This hotel epitomises an authentic Matera experience, something we earnestly yearned for and thoroughly enjoyed. The hospitality was exemplary, especially owing to Roberta, who welcomed us warmly upon check-in. Her organisation and coordination of our needs were impeccable, showcasing a caliber of professionalism akin to a five-star setting. We left with nothing but fond memories and a strong desire to return. The experience was absolutely rewarding, and we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a genuine Matera encounter.

Hammam imperdível
O hotel fica bem no centro histórico de Matera, localização perfeita. A arquitetura é incrível. O hotel fica dentro do Sasso (tipo uma caverna), mas é super moderno, confortável e acolhedor. Quarto amplo, bem decorado, impressionante. O Hammam do hotel é imperdível e enorme. Vale a pena reservar um horário. O café da manhã é muito bom. Optamos por não jantar no restaurante do hotel e escolhemos uma das dezenas de opção ao ar livre com vista deslumbrante para a cidade de Matera que à noite fica lindíssima. O hotel não tem estacionamento (fica em área restrita para veículos) e a opção dada pelo hotel é um Parking pago bem distante. É necessário combinar o horário de chegada com o hotel para providenciar o traslado de van (também pago) do estacionamento ao hotel. Tivemos um pequeno contratempo, pois a van não estava no local no horário combinado e precisamos insistir com o hotel por telefone para enviar o transporte. Fora isso, a estadia foi mais do que perfeita.

The Aquatio hotel was so amazing!! Who knew staying in a cave would be the highlight of our trip!❤️ It was in a great location in the village, walkable to everything! The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff as so attentive and helpful (unlike other places we have stayed in Italy!) I highly recommend staying in this unique hotel!!

This was a very unique property designed and built as if you were in a Cave. Not as claustrophobic as might imagine, however the room was very warm as we were experiencing a HOT period during our stay. The A/C was not able to keep up with the temperatures which made sleeping difficult! That said, other than that it was an interesting City. I can say I've been there, however once would be enough.

The staff was fantastic-very friendly and the location is right near the square for dining options. The outside of our room had a beautiful view of the sassi. The spa was amazing as well! Highly recommend.

Matera 3 day stay.
Wonderful 3 day stay. We both had a wonderful and restful stay. The spa facilities added to the stay and enjoyed. Staff from reception, porters, dining areas and cleaning ladies were so friendly and always very helpful.
