Beautiful views, but not the experience I was expecting
Via Angelina is absolutely spectacular when it comes to the views. The scenery is breathtaking, and the property itself has a beautiful setting. Breakfast was included, which initially felt like a great value.
However, there were some important details that were not made clear when booking. The hotel requires roughly a 15-minute walk downhill in the dark, along curved roadways with no pedestrian walkway, which felt quite dangerous. This was especially difficult because we did not have a car, and it was never communicated to us that having one would essentially be necessary for convenience and safety.
There was also approximately a half-kilometre walk from our room to the breakfast area, followed by another 20-minute uphill walk just to get back to the bus stop. By the time we were making our way back up, it felt far less convenient than we had anticipated.
The views are truly breathtaking, but when you factor in the accessibility, the steep and potentially unsafe walks, and the distance involved in simply getting to and from the property, I don't feel we got the value for our money that we expected.
I think the hotel should be much more transparent about the walking conditions and transportation situation in its description, because this could significantly affect a guest's decision to book.
