Barbs Bach

Barbs place offers an easy base in which to enjoy all Mangawhai has to offer. Just a short stroll to Bennett’s for your morning coffee or the village markets, Dunes, and the estuary. Located in a quiet location at the back of Mangawhai Park the bach has a large covered deck, parking for two vehicles, comfortable queen and double beds, great shower pressure, wifi and heat pump. Guests have access to the heated pool and barbecue area.
There is a restriction regarding children preference given to one child only.
Linen is not included in the tariff so please bring top and bottom sheets, Pillowcases, and towels. Minimum stay is two nights. I can supply linen to international guests at a cost of $40 per booking.

Cleaning policy is leave bach as you find it.

From the start, communication with Barb was super speedy. She was responsive to any questions we had. The bach was just as advertised and just what we were looking for. The kitchen was very well equipped. Modern appliances. We appreciated the dishwasher. Clothes storage was good. The bed was very comfortable. The pool was great. The covered deck was appreciated because of the rain we had but also as protection from the sun. The location was good, ten minutes or less to restaurants, groceries, and anything else we might have needed. While we were there, Bard did check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The bach is located in a condo community and the other owners were friendly and helpful in the five weeks we were there. It's a very relaxing, quiet atmosphere. The location of Barb's bach is well located to allow people who want to explore the North Island. We would highly recommend Barb's bach.

Cute and comfortable cottage

We enjoyed Mangawhai very much, but will not book this property again. I did not appreciate how I was treated by the host at the end of our stay. Unacceptable.

Thank you Barbara! The accomodation was compact & nicely presented. It had everything we needed. It was secure & safe with the gated entry & exit. The front covered deck a lovely space to enjoy outdoor dining & the perfect spot for my Mum to read her book. The beds were comfy & the highlight was the community heated pool.

Great Stay

Hi. We had a great stay, communication with host was excellent and the property was as described with everything we needed. Use of the shared pool was a bonus. Easy walking distance to village and quick drive to the surf beach.

Nice bach

Nice clean bach, everything worked, comfortable, quiet neighbourhood, excellent pool. Bach was water tight and secure even during tornado on 26th Jan. Highly recommended. Barb is a very pleasant host.

Nice stay in Barb’s bach

Well equipped small house with close neighbours, but it was incredibly quiet. Close to cafe and 4 square. There was a local power cut when we arrived and Barb kindly bought a large container of water for our use.

Barb’s Cosy Cottage

An ideally located cosy cottage in an enclave of similar cottages - in the heart of Mangawhai village - suited perfectly our get away needs close to family that couldn’t accommodate us on their property!Occupants of other cottages were very respectful - and despite the cottage to cottage close proximity, noise was not an issue - all very peaceful - helped by Barb’s Cottage being at the rear of the enclave. Will stay again!

Pleasant stay

We had a lovely stay at Barbs bach, loved the facilities, cute and comfy with everything we needed. Enjoyed a swim in the pool too and it was a great location close to cafe and shops.
